So...I have this Idea.... Take out Test Track...and put Bumper Cars in its place? That works right? And look how much money Disney will save on overhead and maintaince....LOL Kidding Kidding:animwink:

LoL...good one....

As a general rule..normally avoid that end of the park entirely. There is nothing worth seeing over at that area anymore...so I just keep walking towards asia.

Just wait till disney starts advertising Dino-Rama on its park maps...it will really seem lame compaired to the celbration of the 100th birthday deal....

No seriously. Look at the latest construction pics, they only show 1 coaster, and the fact that the model is only of 1 coaster is adds to the question.:drevil:

Well, if you look a bit further back, you can see red supports going up. The red coaster is on the right side of the blue coaster we have seen pics of. I don't know if they are attaching the track one at a time or if we only got a picture of one of the coasters...I would assume the earlier. However, am I the only one who has noticed that Dinoland, in general, is set up like a big pit stop? Everything is old and run-down...difference being everything else was truly themed to look that way. Dino-Rama certainly fits in w/ Dinoland, which has never been quite as serious as Harambe or Anandapur. I am sure this ride will have a long line...they would not build two coasters if it weren't designed to have a long line...wouldn't wanna waste the $2-3M...spinning coasters can be fun...if you don't get motion sickness...only thing I don't get is the "rider-controlled" statement...no Reverchon coasters are like this, and this is supposed to be "off the shelf"...is it not rider-controlled or are the cars specially made?

How carney..... I agree with those that say put it in a building. I hope this ride is short lived.

Even if it is a cheap off the shelf ride, I disagree with you hoping it'll be short lived. I personally think that Disney (and other parks...I'm mad about king kong!) should never close down rides. Updating them is fine, but the more the better, and if AK is going to get beastly kingdom, and hopefully lots of other rides too, whats the big deal with one little cheap coaster?

Well...it seems like it's money that could of been spent elsewhere... I know it didnt cost THAT much..but for something that seems to be causing little intrest...it seems like a waste.

I'm not sure that they were commenting on the Primeval Whirl itself, but just rides of that nature.

Well, then put a bag over its head....ie. put it in a building. And have some cool effects and stuff...then it would not seem so off the shelf...and it might look like there is something creative there...not half a s s and throw it together fast which this is.

I think the main issue for me is that it REALLY doesnt fit in with the rest of AK...

I wouldn't mind it as much if it was in fantasy land (I konw it wouldnt fit..but I am just using the name as an example)...

i've watched this thread grow and grow, but didn't bother opening it until today because of its subject matter. primeval whirl, whoop-de-doo.

normally, i would enjoy being a contrarian in a thread like this. but, damn, what a waste of resources! i don't care if it's the best mad mouse ride in the world. it's still well, well below disney imagineering standards.

everytime they add something in animal kingdom, it gets less and less inviting.

I don't know of anything else that's really unappealing at Animal Kingom. I like all of the other attractions...Dino-Rama needs a show...Tarzan does not cut it for Dinoland, they need a dinosaur show...b/c, as we all know, most kids like dinos...if they are trying to be kid friendly.

Exactly...everything else fits at AK....its sad what they resorted to with Dino-rama...totally off theme...

even if DinoRama is trash, I still love 98% of disney world...ain't bad...that's an A+! (granted my AP Biology average is a 99%, it's still good! Hopefully my A's will be enough to get me into Cornell University! ~crosses fingers~)

I think alot of people here need to remember tha carny rides are not new at disney. Besides the current plague of hub-and-spoke rides, old fashioned carny rides have been a part of the world since it started. I mean, the teacups is OBVIOUSLY a carny ride, same with the carousel. And all the dark rides in fantasyland (with the exception of winnie the pooh, which is VERY well done, with much better charecters) is a bunch of carboard cut-outs with timed lighting...Seriously, on snow white, how many things ACTUALLY move? Dopeys ears and hand at the end, and the wicked queen when she turns around. Whoopie. I can't wait.

Alot of you are judging this area before you have actually BEEN there. I am blessed enough to live in florida, a mere 1 1/2 from the happiest place on earth, and I have visited Dinorama. My only complain, get this, is that it looks to CLEAN. It looks to SHINY AND NEW. The paint is bright and everything is very new looking. The rest of dinoland consists of old rusty mobile homes, scrap metal roofs, and other wonderfully themed 'atomic age' stuff. The road-side carnival looks to sterilized, hopefully that'll pass in time, and the paint will be less shiny. You'll know what I mean when you visit it.

Anyways. I don't really mind it. I probably would be OUTRAGED if I couldn't see the outline of beastly kingdom on the horizon. And from what I've HEARD of beastly kingdom, it seems to violate theming even WORSE then dinorama..(That reign of fire ride..who wants to 'ride' through burning new york while exploring a mytological land?) For me, this is a kiddie section, and I'm sure that the 48" height requirment will be lowered to 36"...It makes more sense. Common folks, so you don't like the ride, big deal. It's not really an eye sore, it actually brings some color to the otherwise blandly painted dinoland, and some comedy relief to the serios mood of the park. It'll draw crowds from the other attractions, and you can't complain about it being a carny ride without bringing up a dozen other 'carny' rides that walt disney designed himself. The only difference, he made them nice and neat, and without scabby, dirty attendents. And thats what they did with dinorama.

I live a mere 15 minutes from the parks and I have in fact seen Dino rama up close and personal....Theme wise..it REALLY sticks out like a sore thrumb (Unless of course you can explain to me when in history the Dinosaurs decided to throw a carnival)...

Beastly Kingdom will fit in better because it is MYTHICAL animals...still going with the general theme of AK....I think Dino-Rama would be a LOT more accpetable in another park...

Of course..thats all just my opinion....
