it may not look great, but at least its a new attraction! :slurp:

Dino-rama is for the kids....do you think an 8 year old is thinking.."wow, the color scheme of this ride is hideous"! :)

wow, i just saw the pic and was on my way to say "um, seen this ride before - what's the deal with that"

good to see i'm not the only one shaking my head here. is disney trying to be blatently unimaginative, and just fill space? this ride just looks completely off the shelf, with a bell or whistle, or two - but not a hand of disney magic touching it anywhere....

i know i should shut up, cause at least it's not a hub and spoke ride....

ok, i'm done ranting...

um...Primeval Whirl! is not a kiddie ride...it has a height restriction of 48 inches. Not sure...what it is...I was kinda hoping for a new track layout at least, but it's like all the other Reverchon spinning coasters I've seen...how depressing...the rider controlled spinning is novel, but everything else screams SIX FLAGS...ewww ewww ewww....put it in a freakin ride building so I can't actually SEE it! Perhaps a few glow-in-the-dark animatronic dinos would help it slightly...Disney certainly has the carny feel down...not in a good way...do they at least have some food stalls, or is the area completely useless? It's like that lazy kid in football games who gets the ball and runs for the wrong goal...you should be glad he's MOVING but you aren't b/c it's in the wrong direction...TURN!!!!!!

if that is what it is going to look like they they should be done with it soon. It looks like someone was playing roller coaster tycoon and said this is good lets build it. I think the whole area looks ridiculious:cry: Its going to be just like the game with all of the puke and everything.
If you are going to put in a six flags type coaster at least make it a good one.

I personally don't think the ride would be so bad, if they added some theming, put it in a building, and moved it to Mickeys Toon Town. This whole section has no business being in dinoland in the first place. In IoA's Jurassic Park section, they don't have one half of it being a dinosaur theme park with real looking Dinosaurs, and then have the other half being run by cartoon dino's with off the shelf rides.

Maybe Micheal Esiner will hate the ride and give some money to redo it like JIYI!

Well, first of all, as Kyle pointed out, this is not a kiddy ride. Second of all, it’s not the color scheme that we all have a problem with. There is a reason that people spend thousands of dollars to come to Disney World and it’s not for attractions like this. Sure, it’s a new attraction but is this the kind of new attraction you want to see from now on? If everyone had just said “at least it’s a new attraction” when JIYI opened up we would still be stuck with it but because people complained, it is getting redone. How good it will be still remains to be seen but if people complain as badly again, Disney will have to do something with it again.

Okay, I'll be the first one to say, I kinda like it.

I'm sure everybody's gonna yell and give me more reasons why it's so terrible, but AK needs rides, and this one is gonna be a big draw for the crowds. And you know, crowds mean more money, money means ride design, and ride design means the motherload-BEASTLY KINGDOM.

Theming wise, i'm not upset. Sure it could be inside and be dark and have dinosaurs chasing you, but isn't that what Dinosaur is allready? I was impressed with how much theming there actually is. I mean come on folks, at least we can tell Disney did learn a little from Mullholland MAdness. At least there's theming under the tracks and who knows, some of us just might have fun on this baby. (that happening as long as they don't slow in down too much w/ breaks, i say cut 'er loose!)

Double side?

Is it me, or wasn't Primeval Whirl gonna be a double sided Wild Mouse? i mean, with 2 it would still suck, but it would help lines and look better.....so did they decide to make it a one tracked ride?

really think this kind of a ride is going to draw crowds to AK?.. as in, it will be featured on the front of the park map?..
as in, people who otherwise wouldn’t have gone to this park will go because this attraction is there?..

looking at just a model in a 5x7 pic i cant really make a judgement at this time.

but in disneys defense isnt the whole area suppossed to look really tacky with carnival type rides to imitate the late 50's and early 60's along route 66 with all the new yorkie type transplants living in the dessert that offered real tacky no class road side attractions with bright neon lights, cheapy little rides etc?

so if that is the case disney has done a good job at making it true to the theme.

my grandparents have old black and white pics of them going from new york to california in 1959 and at some of those old road side stops and looks really like it looked back then

It is a duel coaster...I think the other one is going to have the opposite color scheme...cuz from the pics I've seen, there have been red and aqua supports. We aren't arguing that it's tacky, but they made it look a little TOO cheap...I wouldn't have a problem with them taking a REAL ride and making it LOOK cheap, but when they just build cheap rides...well...we get a spin-and-puke land. I suppose we ought not judge it yet, but even the model looks like someone's big mistake...I'm sure one of the Imagineers put the "YIKES!" sign in b/c (s)he thought it was hideous like most of us...not to say I won't ride it when they finish it (which should take about a week...)...but I don't think I'll be flocking there as much as possible to ride...on the first "big" 20 foot drop, is that an on-ride photo I see??? How do you take people's pictures on a RIDER-CONTROLLED spinning coaster? "GET A PICTURE OF THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD FOR $12.99!!!!"

Dang, Primeval Whirl! Put a bag over your head!!

wait...our last construction pic was from two weeks ago...and vertical construction was already well under way! It's probably in soft opening by now! Anyone been on it?! I tell ya...it's all I think about...1377 feet of mangled steel...50 foot high track...20 mph top speed...150 seconds of fun...if that doesn't SCREAM "adult thrills", I don't know what does...who needs Millennium Force! We've got Primeval Hurl!!!!! Building a coaster around a fossilized T-Rex kinda goes against The Dino Institute's values...we should be studying it! Not getting coaster grease on it!!! Oh...that's another thing...if they don't clean this a lot, it will continue to get uglier as it gets grease all over it...

Don't rush to judgement on this ride. If you have never rode on one of these indoor-spinning coasters, wait and see, they are a fun ride, a little short, but fun. Granted it won't be E-ticket, but it should be a quality attraction.

The ride layout looks identical to one at Kennywood Park near Pittsburgh. I'm sure Disney will spend more on theme scenary than little K-Wood could.

I'm betting the ride will be very popular, and lines long.
