I mean, your vacation is your vacation, but I think the Disney Bubble and Disney-only trips have very little applicability outside of Florida.

Once you're out of Orlando, for me that becomes a square peg in a round hole. As much as I love Disneyland, my trips have gotten a lot more interesting since they've become a mix of Disneyland and other things. There's certainly no shortage of other things to do in the area with children. In fairness, things are spread out, traveling with kids can be inherently complicated, and it did take me a few trips to get to the point where I was willing and able to branch out, but I would strongly recommend it. It'd certainly be cheaper (MUCH, much cheaper) than buying more Disney tickets or an AP.
I completely disagree. I actually think the Disneyland bubble is even stronger than WDW if you stay in a Downtown Disney or theme park view room. With the whole resort completely walkable, you never even have to look at a road.

The thing I hate the most about traveling with kids is the damn car seats. So any time I can avoid getting a car, I take that chance.

Honestly, you could say that about anything. That's no reason. Who wants to throw away that amount of money PER PERSON?
If you're spending tens of thousands of dollars on a vacation, a couple hundred per person extra is nothing. There are other ways to cut the budget and still get better service like staying off property at better rated hotel. The GCH isn't that great.

Not sure why you think I (or anyone else) is spend tens of thousands of dollars on a Disney vacation. Or that you assume they would have endless piles of cash for the endeavor. Everyone has their breaking point. Even if they have the money, they might not see value for that additional $175 per person.

Well, the poster in question flies a family from the East Coast and stays in the Grand Californian... $10K may not be far off.

You didn't read CaptainAmerica's original vacation plans. Flight from NY to LA. Stay 8 days at GCH. Park hopper for 8 days to the parks. Living in the Disney bubble meaning all meals are there. Merch and snacks bought. That is a lot of money. I don't think he is skimping on price here. How much do you think that would cost?

>>“A visit to our parks is the best value in entertainment bar none, and we offer flexible choices to enable families to choose what’s best for them,” Disneyland spokeswoman Liz Jaeger said in a statement.<<

@RyanTTD that chart is brilliant! And very helpful for locals like me who are weighing whether to add parking or just keep using Lyft.

For those within a 15 mile radius like me, Lyft works out cheaper than adding parking. And when you consider how much faster and easier it is to Lyft to/from the Resort, plus how much of the parking/trams/buses headaches disappear when you Lyft, I'm surprised that they make parking as expensive as they do.

Once you get 20 miles or more away from Anaheim, it probably stops penciling out if you Lyft 8 or 10 times per year.

But still, it's great to have options, and it's even greater to avoid Disneyland's messy and inefficient parking and tram/bus systems entirely. Thank you to both Lyft for making it so pleasant, and to TDA for making their parking so expensive that it's an easy choice to make!

True. I would like to see the payment plan completely eliminated as well, or at the very least substantially increase the initial down payment.
I would love to see that but I think they are more likely to start charging interest than eliminating the payment plan.
Disney annual pass charge card!
