Premium Parking coming to Walt Disney World's parking lots?

Huh? What are you talking about? It's so easy to park at the Contemporary it's not even funny.

Not for me LOL. I went there specifically to go shopping one day because they carry certain merchandise in their gift shop. I knew I was spending at least $300 in a very short period of time but they would not let me park there because I did not have a dining reservation.

I had to make a dining reservation at Polynesian, drive there and park there, and then monorail to contemporary just to go shopping.

Edit to add: it was lunchtime and yes we ate at Kona Café LOL.

For premium pass holders

Regular valet is free tip extra
Premium valet (5 minute return from time runner takes ticket)
Is 15 dollars plus tip

Remember folks tips are how the valets really earn their money
It really is disingenuous to quote your premium passholder rate, when the vast majority of us rubes will never have one.

Why is that - UNI's premium pass for non-FL residents is priced at Disney's GOLD level $589 vs $549 for the FL Resident Gold pass at Disney and it has a monthly payment option with automatic renewal along with no blackouts and a HHN admission as well.

I like the automatic renewal, I never have to worry about whether my UNI AP is coming up on expiry and getting on the phone for half an hour like Disney requires one to

So it's significantly cheaper than Disney's passes and has more benefits for the passholder as well.

You should look into the ignore list. Truly makes your time here more magical and it's free ;)

But then you wouldn't see if anyone was trying to give you any crap. And if you're the type of person that doesn't take any, you need to know if anyone is trying to do so.

Futile though it may be.

This may be the only way we don't get one of the very last spots in the row. Happens almost every time LOL.

But no, I'll never pay $15 for it, as long as we can both walk.

I was talking to a security guard near the front gate of Hollywood Studios last week. He thought the funniest thing about 'premium' parking is that people parking in either lot will wind up riding in the same tram!

It wasn't exactly busy today but here was the Premium parking when I left around 7:30. They actually reserved parts of Jafar and Aladdin for premium but only filled about 3 half rows of Aladdin with cars. The ones you see in the picture on the right are disabled parking.

Wow. I actually thought we'd see this full of people paying through the nose for a somewhat useless service. I guess Disney did too. :)

What absolute moron of Disney's executive idiot team thought this one up (probable the same idiot that wants the resort fee). Disney would appear to be trying to appeal to once a decade (or less) visitors. People like myself who have been to Disney multiple times over the years will now probably look for other venues to spend our vacation time at. When you appeal to the one percenters, you lose 99 percent of your customer base.

Freaking morons!

Well everyone's entitled to an opinion but I really can't imagine many people not going to Disney World based on the fact that you have the 'option' of paying for preferred parking!!! Let's be honest, most get on a tram in the parking lot anyway (unlike Uni) so it's not like there's extra walking involved if you don't pay for this option..

IMHO, this is very much the same with people abusing the Handicapped Parking requirements. There are so many times, not only at Disney, that you see people parking in Handicapped Parking spaces, sometimes along with their entire group and they hop out of their cars and run off, literally "run". The placard probably belongs to an elderly parent or grandparent that stayed home and they used the placard to provide themselves "premium parking".
That may have been me. My father has mobility issues and we drove his car to a restaurant and parked in the spot using his placard. I had to run out of the restaurant and grab something for my daughters from CVS. I returned, got the same spot, put the placard up and ran inside. Can I tell you how many dirty looks we got until we left and they saw who was using the vehicle?

It is slightly amusing to watch this thread to see how many people will make a dinner reservation just to park and go the parks saying that it is never enforced. We have several enforcement issues in the city where I work and we are told not to enforce them. One day, someone decided that those did need to be enforced and low and behold, everyone started screaming that they were never stopped for that or cited before. Well, we had to start somewhere, and those that have gotten accustomed to getting away with things got a rude awakening.

It is a lot of coin to essentially save 1 minute on the tram.

I would never pay for this option but I also NEVER take the tram anymore no matter how far away I park. The tram is so annoying since they added the recorded safety spiel. It takes forever to play the stupid thing in English and Spanish. Then, some idiot boards late and they have to play it again.

At the TTC, even if the tram is parked at the stop when I walk by, most of the time (even from the far lots) I will get to the TTC walking within 30 seconds of the tram arrival. From the furthest possible tram stop, it's only about a half mile walk.

Are you talking about at the hotels? You don't have to make a dinner reservation to park at them.
