The drink is definitly not for everyone though, my wife, for instance does not react well to absinthe, it makes her feel terrible.

I have never hallucinated drinking absinthe. I think something is wrong with absinthe that makes you hallucinate, it's probably poisonous.

Now... Green Chartruese... that's another story. I see "trails" when I drink that stuff.

There are some commercial absinthes available in the US but they lack all of the secondary effects of true absinthe.

they are really more like pricey anisettes.

Absinthe was made illegal in the US (and in many other countries) because of the way it was being made by unscrupulous companies. Copper sulfate for green coloring is NOT a good idea.

Also pregnant women should not drink absinthe AT ALL -- it can be an abortive.

regarding absinthe...uh.....yeah...its my liquid of choice....in moderation of course...do i hallucinate? nope. Keep in mind tho that im originally from europe..so absinth for me isnt a big deal.
