It manages to run two nightly !Fantasmic shows on ROA, while maintaining comparably (to WDW) tiny walkways and has far more of a distance to where it dead-ends.

I won't lie, it's not ideal, but they certainly manage. It's also a rather "nice" place to get stuck, with plenty of attractions. If you offer enough there is no need to criss-cross a parade route every 20 minutes.

The biggest thing I miss about not working there was the ability to jump downstairs at M07 and come back up on the other side of the parade.... or just crossing the park in a hurry.

Exactly, with four E tickets available north of the parade route (I'm including HM), and three to the south, there's enough to do while a 20 minute parade passes.

Surely. It's all armchair. I'm sure the boat will just stop. There really isn't enough benefit to the many millions that would be required to keep the boat going.

True. I think the most likely outcome is that they would just stop all the boats and connect TSI as is to the mainland with (multiple) bridges. The could actually just keep the lower island as is and then use the upper island for a new ride. As already mentioned it's large enough potentially for a ride and they could always consider something like Paris where the ride travels between the island and the mainland (probably would be over the water, not under though, given the land makeup in WDW).

I think it is plausible they could detach the lower island and keep it as an island with just the rafts to get over (docking the Riverboat) while connecting the mainland with only the upper island with bridges.

Does it seem backwards to anyone else to have three E-tickets located essentially side-by-side, and pinned down behind the parade route to boot?

I would hope that if this all comes to pass, that one major change would be bridges to the islands from the Liberty Sq side, allowing for an alternative pathway. This would be particular helpful during parades.

Edit: I'll just add that the DL talk is interesting, but I do think the dead end at Critter Country is annoying. If they are going to cut the traffic on the river at MK, one side effect better be getting rid of the dead end at BTMRR.

They could get around that, but they'd need to seriously modify the Haunted Mansion queue/traffic flow or build out into the river some...

If they are docking the Riverboat and putting bridges to the islands, adding a little land near the HM for guest flow seems like a pretty minor issue.

If they are going to use the island for a new attraction they would be better served to just remove the river boat. It does look as if they could take the riverboat into seven seas lagoon however so they have plenty of places they could park it there or they could dry dock it over where they dock the other seven seas lagoon boats. Doing this would involve the temporary removal of of the railroad bridge (it could be a swing bridge but the resolution on google maps is not high enough for me to tell) and the raising of the roadway lift bridge but it's doable.

Heck if they really wanted to they could transport the riverboat over to Port orleans and park it behind riverside as unlikely as that would ever happen.

Not to be passive aggressive and all (because I soooo hate that!), but I'd guess old lightbulb dropped his information in my thread because he felt that was the best place for it, where the serious discussion on these type of things take place.

So, I have some things to attend to today, but when I decide to chime in it will be where the information was dropped.

Thanks for reading.
But your threads are just so full of randomness that you have to wade through too much BS to get to anything of any value what-so-ever.

It is much better to have real information in a dedicated thread.

So, @whylightbulb followed up and said that this new project is not the "Western River Exploration with a twist" he previously mentioned in 2012.

It makes me very curious as to what could possible be planned. Disney in recent times has shied away from original attractions for the US parks. A new fangled WRE idea seemed plausible to me just given the legacy of the project in WDI circles. There's no particular good IP for Disney to use in Frontierland -- don't see them going with Lone Ranger, Oz didn't do all that well and isn't much of a fit anyway. That leaves a variation of Woody's Roundup, which, well let's hope not IMHO. We really don't need another Toy Story themed ride in a new place at WDW.

Could they possible use an old IP like Davy Crockett? Or if it's something novel, what would they consider if not the WRE concept?

Curiouser and curiouser....

Kinda true, though. Who wants to read through those encyclopedias of nonsense with actual nuggets of information every 437th post? Some of us have jobs that require us to work for a full 15 minutes at a time--long enough to fall 24 pages behind in a SPIRITED thread. Not that I'm not thankful for the info. Those treads just make my head spin.
Yes, because having to go through armchair imagineering is much better ;)

Besides that... I get tired of his attitude that nothing of any value comes from this website except for his threads.

It's just not true.

My inside sources tell me it will be utilizing the IP from Home on the Range.

DO

NOT

TOUCH

TOM SAWYER ISLAND

OR

THE

LIBERTY BELLE.

OK. Got that off my chest. Those attractions are integral components to MK West and are lovely scenic things that the other DLs don't really pull off well. Disneyland's ROA is nice, and so is the Mark Twain and Sawyer... but it never feels truly remote and "out of the theme park". MK really lets you get away from all the crazy with TSI and Liberty Belle.

That said.... this has tons of potential. Lots of room north of BTMR and Splash and even north/west of Mansion. All of those areas could really have walkways built so guests could get to a nice new E-Tic.

It doesn't have to be Frontier. Could be Pirates if they wanted like at DL. Not saying this is the plan, of course. Just that they could if Bob really wanted IP-based like everything else. Because it is any island, it's theme could...wander.
