Possible Frontierland expansion

This better just be for the 4th. All of a sudden walking through frontierland the country bears appear to be throwing a rave. Don't we already have this in TL?

It's only for special events and on July 3-4 and December 30-31.

I was there at about 5pm and it was raining. It wasn't heavy but it was enough that people were leaving in mass. The parking lot wasn't much different than an average early June day either and I'd argue that it was fairly empty with all things being considered. On the plus side it was nice to experience Carousel of progress with a full theater.

I got into MK around 7:30 and it felt really crowded to me. Space was posted at 170. After the fireworks they actually made an in park announcement that transportation was backed up and they suggested staying in the park for a while longer.

Around fireworks time it was absolutely packed, no way there was only 51K.
There's a large difference between the total number of guests that enter the park in a given day and the total number in the park at one time. 51k in the park at one time is a very large number especially when the majority of those all want to be in the same location for the same event.

A follow up question. It's possible then a guest will be counted multiple times in a day. Park hopping, left something in car, back to room for rest etc. Can Disney tell the difference with the magic bands?

Disney can tell the difference. Guests are not counted multiple times for the purpose of overall attendance.

They could tell the difference before magic bands. When you re enter the gate hardware sees a rescan opposed to an original scan and it gets reported as such. I set up equipment like this for a living and while mine is exclusively barcode media, it all works generally the same way.

51K is huge... but it's not out of the ordinary for MK to hit 80K+ on July4th and NYE. And that's all at one time.

It's not out of the ordinary for MK to hit 80K+ on those peak days but that is over the course of the entire day. I assure you that is not in the park at one time. The park begins phase closes when the in park attendance is in the high 50's to low 60's range. 80k in the park all at one time does not happen.

MK was packed Yesterday and today. I'm at Epcot and it's not bad at all. Maybe it's the 80% chance of thunderstorms. The dance party is just for special days like today and New Year's.

As has been discussed above, more high quality attractions will not ease crowding, they will drive more people into the park. More people than those attractions can hold.... unless they have giant queues. I'm not saying WDW should stop adding attractions, I'm saying that all the queues should be upgraded.

And as mentioned, people aren't complaining about the wait for FoP because it is so well themed. If you keep making this about current queues, then you're correct, people hate them. Queues which have entertainment, interactivity, controlled environment are so much better than an outdoor switchback. They can increase customer satisfaction and hold crowds and reduce crowding.
Just went on FOP for the first time this past weekend, queue is great but guest are already ruining it. People placing trash everywhere and others scraping their names into the paint. Some guest really suck.

I have noticed that overall in all the parks. Guests are just throwing trash where ever they please. I cant believe they are scraping their names into the paint. Its all so disheartening to see things like that.

It really is. Maybe Disney should monitor stuff like that in real time, and if they catch a guest defacing a ride, that guest gets tossed out of the parks and banned for life, and maybe charged with property damage. Sweet!

I'd like to see them convert the Liberty Belle into a nice restaurant and stage show since the peanut butter sandwiches don't keep the doors open at the Diamond Horseshoe.

Carve up Tom Sawyers island with waterways twisting and turning through various Marc Davis wild west scenes.

Similar to the Western River expansion using different watercraft as tour vessles.
Keelboats, sit-down log rafts, enormous canoes, etc. Essentially Jungle Cruise through the wild west.

Either that or Woody's dueling round up spinners.

So is there a possibility of some sort of MK expansion to be announced at D23?

If they can finally decide what they want to do about the Tomorrowland, they might. But since our insiders haven't mentioned anything greenlit for SGE or the final disposition of SpeedTrack, then it's doubtful.

Expansion not replacement? I doubt it. Cue the Adventureland crowd. Or the Frontierland people.
