Possible Frontierland expansion

Is it possible that with the upcoming BTMR renovation that new pathways and areas could be constructed in order to make an adjacent expansion more realistic?

@P_Radden , thanks for all of your visuals that you add to the boards! They're super helpful :)

Example- idk how, but I had no idea that Splash Mountain looked like that from the back  The show building is way bigger than I imagined.
You need to watch my video :D

The last proposal a few years ago was to expand north and then west from the Splash connector (roughly through the meet n greet area south of the BTM barn).

There may also be proposals to add a theatre facility to the MK. This could be a perfect area.

Video on Splash Mountain or Frontierland? I'd love something new to watch on my day off on Friday :)

Why can't Disney do both? I thought a new E-Ticket was on the table for all parks (minus AK).
I believe there is even one for AK but that is a pretty big stretch (and no, that is not an Incredibles clue).

As for the Table, yeah, I believe there are lots of items on the table. What makes it off and into a park is, well, still very much in debate. As for the OP in this thread, I am hearing it is more than likely longer term and would not be part of the 50th.

Could something get added south of Splash Mountain? The walkway from FL to AL is pretty dead, except for a (pretty amazing) waffle cart. Whatever could/would go there would need to blend the Frontier theme in with the Caribbean.

How could Frontierland get "reimagined"? Do you mean changing the theme, or altering the story?

I think changing the theme would revitalize that section of the park and it could flow better creatively and especially story wise. It just seems out of step with the times and I don't see that changing with time. But I am just judging by my own subjectivity. Who knows what they may decide?

So if you can say, what is the current leading option? It really does amaze me how quickly things change. Is it partly due to leadership not being able to make decisions because that's what seems to be partly the issue.
There certainly is a failure to commit. Part of the issue is that they are planning a total package that needs to be ready in 2021--which is a ways off. When you are talking about a major project that needs to begin construction a year or more from now, there is much opportunity for change. Something like Ratatouille, on the other hand, which must begin construction within a year, gets more solid by the day.

I know this project is not on the table right now but, that said, I really don't see the need for an E-ticket ride in Frontierland, especially north of BTM.

The overall theme of that area, should they ever decide to expand, is interesting to contemplate. Generally, the themeing from Mansion to BTM, clockwise around the island, evolves from Eastern seaboard to California. A visual story of Western expansion. If they were to close up the loop and connect back to HM what would that northern section be? The beginning or end of that visual story? I know lots of people want to see WRE in this area but I am not sure that would be the answer.

It's a continuing of the story, but doing a pacific northwest/Alaskan Klondike theme. At least that is what I would do...

I'd put in a Land of Legends area (look it up, previously considered for DL) after the current FL perhaps with a version of tfe WRE, then put a Klondike area after that to round off the top of the RoE.

Please yes. It's ridiculous that MK has all this land and doesn't have a (proper) dedicated stage for shows, i.e. not the castle steps blocking crowds.

Ditto. Sadly, even if they did this, I would be pretty surprised if they removed the castle stage.

This got me thinking, if they did put a theater there, would they eventuly consider moving Fantasmic! or it's successor here to free up more land at DHS? I throw that out there admitting I have very a little knowledge about park ops or the logistical challenges it would pose. I tend to think no because the castle projection and fireworks shows are so incredibly popular and MK already has crowd problems but it doesn't seem like it would be completely out of the realm of possibility.....does it?

That concept sounds interesting. I will have to check it out. I quickly brainstormed a few other concepts that could be used if they decide to do something other than a frontier theater.

-Pochahontas is an IP they could do more with but political and cultural sensitivity issues could be big concerns. Seeing trains rolling by a 1600s Algonquian settlement would also be pretty inaccurate.

-River Town was an original concept for Disneyland that was never built. The unbuilt American themed park in Virginia had a Civil War era town concept this could be blended with. The riverboat could be moved here and a permanently docked sailing ship could go at the current riverboat dock.

-Carsland...the rock work would sort of match BTM but it would not fit the historical context at all. Definitely would not be my first choice.

-A Hawaiian or Polynesian land would continue the westward expansion theme but seeing a train run by this environment would be strange. Plus, it may look and feel a little too much like Adventureland.

Having thrown those out there a Pacific NW theme does seem to be the most appealing.
