Okay, sorry for the delay (the combination of feeling under the weather and my laptop choosing to restart pushed my plans around). Here are some details of the Swiss pavilion's village:

I think the real issue is what could Switzerland provide that wasn't already provided in Germany? I know they each have their own cultures, but they are very similar.

Next up, the insane premise of the Matterhorn ride

@Direwolf27, just wanted to call you out for your contributions to these boards. You've been sharing for just a few months but I always appreciate the research, information, and depth of Disney knowledge, plus you tend to "like" my posts which makes me more keen to read yours :)
There's many that deserve a serving of gratitude here, but this Buds for you.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
not again please. This has been beaten ad nauseam explaining every single time why it doesn't belong.
Yes, but not everyone agrees; and others just don't care. There is room for more than one opinion.

Not that anyone asked, but I'll offer mine - Maelstrom was meh. Frozenstrom is great. No, it's not set in Norway. No, it doesn't make me want to book a trip to Norway to see what I've been missing - but neither did Maelstrom. The additions, while maybe not a great use of an expansion pad, are aesthetically pleasing. Most importantly, they didn't mess with my School Bread, and they brought in these dudes.

Oh wow. Thank you so much! Obviously, I don't know as much as others, but I enjoy doing the research (so much that I get paid to do research, just not on anything related to Disney, sad to say). Thanks again!:)

Could've brought in those dudes along with a proper Maelstrom update.

To be honest, most of my Viking knowledge came from Maelstrom, History's Vikings, and BBC's The Last Kingdom, but where I first learned about the Vikings was the Muppets... I can't look at inaccurate Viking helmets without thinking of their take on "In the Navy" while raiding and pillaging.

I guess that what I'm getting at is that Maelstrom could have been updated with the Muppets ;)

But then, I'm also the kind of person to mildly begrudge the fact that in Shanghai's Pirates you go underwater and travel along the depths of the ocean via water flume. So, perhaps I'm too picky.
I don't know if you are too picky or not, but I have the same problem. It's incoherent.

Man say what you will but I love Rat. That darn catchphrase, anyone can cook is actually the reason my sister cooks and has her own kitchen now. She saw that movie and something clicked and she went from high school drop out single mom to a chef.

And it sucks cuz every time we go to DW she asked for Rat merch cuz her home kitchen is as Rat as she can make it. A Rat ride gives me more merch and it's a great movie. Maybe I'm just stilted in the "my fave Disney movie is often considered a hidden gem" way My own fave Dis movie is Atlantis but Im in the hope for Rat over BatB. B's got all that MK business. Give me Rat and give me merch!

Again, I've just got sentimentalities attached to Rat. :U

If you don't travel on a water flume, what would you propose?
Couldn't they have done away with the flume for the underwater portions and have a track disguised as the ocean floor? The boats for Pirates in Shanghai aren't moved by the standard propulsion system, it's nearly an underwater EMV, seemingly. I wonder if it couldn't be amphibious.

Or better yet, maybe not have the boats go "underwater" if you can't make real sense of it?

Like I said, maybe that's being too picky. I haven't ridden it in person, either, so what do I really know -- but watching videos, the visible flume totally breaks the illusion that the scene is taking place underwater. The novelty of going underwater is outweighed for me by the preposterousness of an underwater river.

The thousand plus rumours from the trusted Disney insiders here.. Nothing has been announced yet, just the insiders here releasing info that is utterly suspicious, yet very trusthworthy.
D23 sounds like it's going to be a zinger. Let us hope.
What new pavilion is being built when they have empty ones in the park? The rumors are a lot of armchair statements that everyone makes on these boards (including me). The ride rumor that has some teeth to it is replacing Ellen's Energy with something. Rumor was GotG but that has gone quiet. There's a lot that can be done at EPCOT that could be it an outstanding park again. Hopefully they are smart with their choices.
