Possible Attraction in France pavilion (Epcot) Update - new Attraction Greenlit

So to summarize 33 pages. @marni1971 and @articos danced around a few rumors without confirming anything (as is their right to protect their sources).
  • The leader in the clubhouse for an addition to the France Pavilion is a clone of the Ratatouille ride from Paris, this would not affect Impressions de France and would be an expansion to the existing footprint of the France Pavilion.
  • An additional World Showcase pavilion is being considered with funding being sought out by the host country. The new pavilion would likely feature a ride if it is added without outside funding, and potentially could still feature a ride even with outside funding.
Did I miss anything else?

Outside of the rumors of Japan getting a ride being untrue, I think you summarized it all.

Agreed, however, the current French pavilion would be pretty tight to handle the flow of traffic required for that attraction. They would have to keep the entrance away from Les Halles
What about placing the entrance to the right of the main pavilion instead of deep inside the pavilion? The queue then extends back along the side of the Impressions of France show building into the main show building behind the pavilion. There is a nice, quite little area there where a nice replica of the entrance to Gusteau's restaurant (with the fountain in front) could connect and not feel terribly out of place...

Do you know if there were ever plans at DLP for more than Disneyland? It seems like they shoehorned WDSP in its spot.
It's worth noting Imagineering didn't masterplan the Resort. I believe that distinction belongs to the infamous Disney Development Group. Tony Baxter, former Executive Portfolio lead for Disneyland Paris, has expressed ire with the second gate's placement. He is particularly irritated with Walt Disney Studios' Tower of Terror. That attraction intrudes into Frontierland and Tony's classic Big Thunder Mountain.

It's an example of real estate people trying to be theme park people. One is storytelling, the other is functional and attractive. Ironically it was real estate that sunk the Resort, so many of the problems that have plagued show quality are a result of Disney trying to be what it's not.

Edit: Pardon me. That's Frontierland, not Tomorrowland.

Yes.

Any expansion to France in Epcot would leave the Theater. There's no reason to get rid of it.

Could it accommodate a stage so that they could have the BatB stage show from the studies? Rotating between Impressions and a few performances of the stage show each day.

I think Ratatouille would be a much better fit for France, even if the ride itself is so-so (wonder if they'd Plus it in any way?).

But here's what I'm wondering: is there any chance they could add the BatB ride to MK? Google Maps suggest they'd have to do some serious restructuring if so, but I'm curious if it's something that's at all under consideration. (does anyone know how the ride's entrance will works in Japan with BoG?)

Quoting myself so it doesn't get lost on the previous page, if anyone has any idea?

In Tokyo, a much larger castle forms the weenie/entrance to the ride. There isn't a Be Our Guest restaurant similar to the MK. There will be a dining facility in the Village (I supposed it could use the same name), not the Castle.

Adding this attraction to the MK's BatB area would not be impossible, but would not be very straightforward or easy (i.e. convert Enchanted Tales to its queue, then bridge-queue westward over the access road to a showbuilding built north of Small World and south of the RR).

There is no straightforward or easy way to add this attraction to the MK's BatB area (it would require removal of an existing attraction (such as Enchanted Tales) and/or re-routing the train.

Thanks, good info. I had figured Enchanted Tales would have to be moved--I wonder if that's something Disney would consider at all (probably not). It would be a great addition, and it looks like they have plenty of room to accommodate if they did so. No idea how they'd make the line work with how BoG is setup.

Is it weird I'm a bit disappointed Tokyo's not getting BoG? That's probably one of my favorite dining experiences

Has it already been pointed out that the BatB attraction in that model seems to have the same shape as Mystic Manor?
