Are you familiar with that backstage building’s particular purpose?

I know they’re moving a lot of non-park essential back of house to the Epic plot, which should free up expansion land at both parks (but primarily Universal Studios park), wasn’t sure if this was one of those movable buildings.

I believe it's offices and a central security hub. It's also like a full fledged two story building. Trailers, on the other hand, are of course easy to relocate.

I believe that is basically covered with Avatarland... Lets try to convince Disney to one-up Jurassic Park with dinos instead of Zootopia and Moana now...

I'd actually wager that Pandora and Beastly Kingdomme are VERY different thematically, and that Pandora doesn't really have the mythical creatures thing covered.

Part of the point with mythical creatures is the fact that they are mythical. They have a deep relationship with humanity and play a large role in human culture— in line with DAK's themes of man's relationships with animals a nature. Mythical creatures are the products of man's relationship to nature— they are created inside of our imaginations.

Pandora approaches those themes very differently. The World of Pandora depicts animals that, in that fictional world, have nothing to do with myth. They are very real, living breathing creatures. It doesn't concern itself with human imagination so much as human relationships to concepts of ecology and conservation. It creates a fictional ecosystem in order to do that.

But banshees, despite their appearance, are no dragons.

Well... they're already building it over at Epic., so it's too late.

Also covered by Expedition Everest.

Do I have to say it 😏

I think what I actually meant to say was I don't think animal kingdom needs any more made-up creatures.

No
... but I think creatures of myth and legend would still be a great addition to the park.

Can we please stop bringing up the idea and rumor that Legend of Zelda is going to take over Poseidon's Fury/Lost Continent?!?! That rumor was likely killed in the pandemic, IOA already has a castle-esque building (Hogwarts), and changing LC would be doom for Myhtos Restaurant, which is very popular.

It wasn’t just a rumor. It was a very real project.

Well, with no area with mythological creatures here at Universal anymore...Perhaps Disney can do a bigger and Better Beastly Kingdom section at AK..The Dragon head is still up at the ticket booth and still proudly In the middle of the logo of the park..
That’s one of my ideas for an East (or West) expansion of AK.

It seems pretty likely that Zelda is coming to IOA sooner rather than later.

And then Pokémon to USF further down the line. Which is imo a park that almost needs a full reimagining.

Lost Continent is too small to have Hyrule put in, especially if that Hyrule is the one in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. They’ll probably instead put in a new ride on the Sinbad and Poseidon space.
