Extended concept art showing Shrek's swamp and what looks like a Shrek and Donkey M&G. You can also spot Woody's Nuthouse Coaster in the back rethemed to the Caterbus from Trolls.

Seeing that Shrek took over Fivevel's playland and Trolls took over the Nuthouse area.

Here's hoping Kung Fu Panda Adventure is taking over the old Barney Theater..The only area left is the former Curious George section which will be that Gabby's playhouse...

Maybe if your children want to see animal exhibits and ride absolutely nothing, because that's what SeaWorld provides children. You're comparing two entirely different kinds of parks at that point.

I don't think I'm being to critical.

SeaWorld offers animal exhibits (shocker - kids love animals?!?), shows, and an entire land based on Sesame Street with various flat rides and play areas - not to mention M&Gs, parades, etc.

At the moment, USF offers 2 decent Minion attractions and a Dumbo spinner.

Sadly, this seems like a quick retheme more-so than adding anything of value. That Kung Fu Panda boat ride from Beijing would make a lot of sense for the area at some point (although the chance they're using the ride with a retheme at Epic makes this less likely).

As a whole, I view Universal Studios as the worst park in Orlando and Islands as the best. I’d easily go to SeaWorld over USO, and I believe that holds true for pretty much every demographic.

Islands is utterly fantastic and stacked, though. Every addition it gets (and will get belongs in a world class theme park).

Outside of the Bourne Stuntacular, USO hasn’t received anything worthy since Potter (and even it’s headlining ride is weak compared to the potter rides next door).

Seems unfortunate that they’re replicating the trend of mediocre or disappointing additions to USO with this kidzone change. It’ll be an improvement, absolutely, but should’ve gone all the way and added Pokémon as they considered at one point. No reason to take the cheap approach when it’ll sit there for decades and likely won’t move the needle much.

Now we just gotta wait for Islands to receive its next pair of World class attractions via Zelda to have the disparity grow even larger.

Disagree -- SeaWorld is a disgrace. From the staff, to the attractions -- it's so lackluster and no more than 4-5 hours of your day.

USO has a lot of B level tier attractions. You are right they need something NEW to add on though. This Kids Area will be a massive improvement over what was previously there, even if it isn't ground breaking. Fast and the Furious was one of the biggest misses, and the fact that the Fear Factor area is still nothing new is a big issue. Replacing a crap attraction & putting something new there would massively help a lot of other's complaints, but I still love Mummy, Gringotts, MIB, Transformers, ET; and Jimmy Fallon, Simpsons, Rip Ride Rock'it, and the new Minions all have enough novelty value to round out your day.

It's not a cheap retheme though, they pretty much demo'd the place. It's sort of like the Toontown to Storybook Circus conversion from New Fantasyland a few years back - taking a previously outdated area and converting it into a nicer place and making it more engaging/relative.

Nobody was going into Kidzone the last 5 years now... now it'll be very popular and serve an audience they've been neglecting for a while.

I was actually surprised to see them do this this early on, I could have sworn we would have to wait post-Epic to see them use this space.

I said nothing about cheap! Theme park construction is rarely ever cheap. But we're not seeing major changes in terms of attraction lineups or experiences, arguably, is my point.

It’s not that extensive which is why it’s happening so quickly.

USF is so boring now. I say that as someone who’s been there more than Disney. They’ve been such a disappointment lately. F & F ride has made me soured on them. Shrek was getting old and the new minions ride is a good use of its space I guess.

Disappointed that this new land doesn’t seem to be much at all but a makeover with Dreamworks and they might add some cheap kiddie rides. USF needs a family dark ride badly. Annoying trolls are replacing Woody Woodpecker, Curious George and Fieval will be replaced by Shrek’s swamp and mini Kung fu panda land. I wish they would give Shrek a real ride but I’m sure it’ll be Dragon spinners if not just the meet and greet. I hope they clone the Po boat ride from Beijing but if anything it’ll probably be the lanterns, and the training studio. Puss in Boots will probably also be represented. I can’t see any other Dreamworks properties maybe Madagascar having a big presence.

USF is in desperate need of a new dark ride and I think either porting over Pets or making a Shrek dark ride would be the best option.

Instead of exact clones, I wish theme parks would clone the ride but use a different IP more. A Shrek version of SLOP in USH or Kung fu Panda in USB would be cool and unique to USF.
