Ahh the AC vent. Didn't think of that :) I was just looking through pictures online, its hard to see exactly where the vent is. But yes, there is a mirror above the table. It's really hard to tell from the little pictures but it looks like either moving the table & putting it near that wall, in front of the window, or possibly in between the door and bed (obviously moving it during the day to get in and out) might be the best option. I guess we'll have to wait til we get there!

We go to POP every year there are no mirror above the table and no AC vent under the window.

These new rooms are aesthetically sterile and cold-looking, and not at all a warm, cozy, calming space I'd want to come back to after a long day in the parks.

I did stay in Art of Animation family suite once, so I get the concept of the murphy bed. It worked within the layout of that AoA suite main room, but it doesn't look right here. The whole thing looks... weird and shoehorned together.

Anyway, these are just my opinions - I'm aware others disagree - but as a regular Pop Century guest I'm disappointed by the photos.

I mean, I get it, these rooms are small, and they want to make more space during the day perhaps. Still, it looks like a dorm room with nice disney linens. It bears repeating that the laminates are just super cheap looking.

I really like this change a lot. The lines give it a more contemporary look. If they beds are indeed larger, that is also welcome, and as a person who often stays in DVC studios (with one bed and a sleeper sofa), I like the option the Murphy bed provides. Much better imho

I don't think the pictures do it justice. It really is a nice change. I actually got to see the two (old and new) side by side and it is amazing. The beds are queen instead of full so you could actually fit 2 adults in them. The slim lines create more space, there is more storage for your stuff, and you can even slide your suitcases under the bed. For all the people complaining on here from viewing the pictures, I challenge you to try it before you knock it and see if you still feel the same.

Has anyone successfully gotten one of these as a room? I am going in Nov. and would love to have a queen for the spouse and I and the kids can have their own bed. Did not know if we could ask for one at checkin

I would love to see some more photos -- I agree, maybe I'll feel better about it if more photos emerge really showing the space! I'll still keep an open mind while waiting to see more. And maybe these photos don't accurately represent the finished product. Still, I just personally don't like some of the design choices I see in the three photos so far. Hope we get more photos soon.

I kind of liked the way it looked, not too impressed with the new look, but I will wait and see the final result. I rather liked staying at Pop. Will make sure to book a proper single bed next time. Forgot to mention it was for me and my partner and we ended up with two small beds...
We tried sleeping on one together the second night. Didn't work too well. Slept apart the rest of the trip and were too tired to mention it to the front desk.

We had that same experience at Port Orleans...got there after booking a king room and was given a room with two full beds... We could not fit comfortably on the full bed and had to sleep separately...Next morning I tried to get the King room I had actually booked and they hemmed and hawed about it, and then wanted to charge me an additional $40 per night... I called the Dolphin and got a room there for about $6 cheaper than the king room was going to be, and had an infinitely nicer quality room and experience..And because I am a Starwood Preferred, they upgraded us to a suite.... I have always been surprised that Disney uses full beds at all... no other Hotel chain does....unless maybe you are in Europe.

As we were part of a wedding we honestly had no time at all. Looking back we should have mentioned it as the hotel wasn't that full and it wouldn't have been too hard the second day to move to a new room.. Ah well. It made for an interesting experience.

As it was we basically passed out each night in our little beds and got our up bright and early to enjoy our time together otherwise.

The moderate resorts have had queen beds for a few years now. So either your experience at POR was a while ago, or you are mistaken about the bed size.
