Pop Century or bump up to POR

I called Disney today with my pin # and was told it would save me about $450 off my existing Pop Century reservation, or bump me up to POR for the same price I was originally paying. Now I don't know which to do! Would be great to save the money, but we have never stayed anywhere besides Pop Century so it would be nice to try POR when it doesn't affect the budget. What do you think I should do? Is POR worth it?

It's just me, but I would do it. I love POR, especially the Alligator Bayou portion. You will not regret doing it, especially since you've never been there before.

I say go for it!

I second the POR bump up. I think the moderate resorts are a large step up from the values, with POR being my favorite of the moderates.

I find the theming to rival some of the lesser Deluxe resorts, and the food court there is one of the nicest in WDW. IMHO

Oh definatly POR!!! Being a favorite of mine even as a DVC member I'd go back to POR in a heartbeat!!! The resort is beautiful..The surroundings are very homey!! The food court to me is great, something for everyone, Boatwrights dining hall is great for breakfast(especially the bananna stuffed french toast, yummo)..The pools are great, quite a few of them..Water taxi to and from Downtown Disney or you can rent as well....Bob the Piano man is great fun he plays on certain nites in the lounge , great for whole family...There is a great general store as well has lots of park stuff as well as those things you might have forgotten at home(pricey but you are at Disney!)..BUses we never found to be a problem either, and our favorite area to stay in is Aliagtor bayou area Buliding 14, 16, and 18 are great to stay in...Ok Sorry to go on and on....

I would do it in a heart beat. Ihave stayed at POFQ the past 2 years and love it. The pool is great, the grounds are beautiful and the boat to DDT is great. I am going next week for 11 days.

I agree with the other posters - change to Port Orleans. You will appreciate the difference in setting...and as someone already said, the boat ride to DTD is a really nice perk that the other resorts do not have.

Bump up.. I've stayed at POFQ and POR.. You won't regret it.. Both of which were great.. Last trip we stayed at a value and regretted it.. No values again we vowed.. As a previous poster mentioned, you'll have to be careful of that!!

I am going to be a rebel here and say stay at POP...

You can use the extra money for other things that you did not count on..extra drinks, snacks, souveneirs, anything really.

I may be different then most but I LOVE POP..and while I have stayed at moderates and deluxe resorts plenty of times before POP is good enough to me..I enjoy staying there.

JMO..:)

You will have a great time regardless....

You can't go wrong at PO--no matter which section you choose, you will appreciate the beautiful theming throughout the grounds. Also, the theme pools are fantastic! The food courts are both good. I have a slight preference for French Quarter, but both parts of this resort are worth the extra $!
