CEO steps down, jungle cruise boats sinking, impossible foods, and swat team at Beach Club tonight. It’s been a magical week

We were in the middle of a scare, not long ago at Orlando's Florida Mall. Chairs went flying at the foodcourt, somebody shouted "GUN!" and panic ensued, then a human stampede! We, and others, locked ourselves inside one of the stores. Police arrived and things finally calmed down. Those minutes of uncertainty feel like hours and you really fear the worst.

Thankfully, today's incident at BC, turned out to be a false alarm and everyone is ok. Good to know situations like these are taken seriously and handled in an efficient way.

From OCSO Twitter:
“Deputies were at the Disney Beach Club Resort in reference to a suspicious person. Someone thought a man had a gun under a jacket. Deputies determined there was no threat. Guests at the resort are safe. We take all threats seriously and will always respond and investigate.”
Not a big deal in FL. Residents with concealed permits can carry their firearms. "Bulge" in their upper garment and someone got scared. Open carry in some states and not many blink an eye.

In Disneyworld which is an environment that could be a terrorist target by a gunman, where there are a lot of out-of-state and international visitors, there is no need for anyone to carry a gun unless they are law enforcement no matter if they have a permit or not. It sounds like exactly the right thing was done in this case.

Walt Disney World is private property and does not permit weapons to be brought into any resort or theme park.
Universal Orlando is the same, they even go to the point to say their TM parking lot isn't their property and fire an employee for having a gun in their car stolen (employees via Florida law are allowed to keep legal firearms in their cars at their job site).

Believe the rule is the same for WDW CMs.

True. However they don’t post it anywhere which creates a gray area. Property owners are certainly able to prohibit weapons, but they’re supposed to post that in a prominent place near entrances so that guests are aware. If Disney does this I’ve never seen it.
