Planet Hollywood unveils redesign for Disney Springs

I took a look at this area tonight and it looks like that emergency exit is being eliminated. The stairs have been cut off with a torch and all that is left is the stringer. They may end up leaving the door however so they can get equipment in and out which is probably why the fabric panel stops just above it. We should have a better idea of how they plan to finish this area off in the next few weeks.
The concept art shows the door remaining, but a little bridge heading out to the stairs. Let's hope it finishes that way because it looks good in the art. The new circular holes in the fabric puzzle me, though.

The circular holes in the fabric are just for locating the vents that need to be cut into the fabric. The final size will unfortunately be much larger but I'll hold judgment until I see what kind of covers they decide to use.

More panels have been installed. The emergency exit stairs have been eliminated and they have started installing railings on the back patio.

Does anyone know how many panels still need to be covered, in relation to the total number of sections of PH? It's hard to tell from all of the pictures exactly how far along they are.

When I was there two week ago I think only 2 of the 12 segments were covered.

See this designed holes into the fabric? Clearly those are for attaching the doors. I thought that aspect of the design might have been canceled. Very cool.

I am not convinced those are for the doors. First the doors in the concept art are on the back side opposite the entrance, although that could have changed. Also, you wouldn't need holes in the fabric for the doors since they would be mounted on the outside of the beams.

Yes, I am guessing those would be anchoring points so wind does not effect them.

If THey don't do the faux doors it will really hurt the design IMO. Just won't be as convincing as a former observatory. Time will tell.

They would be anchored to the steel ribs, they would be more then sufficient to hold them.

I agree that they are an important part of the design and I really hope they do them.

These holes are for the vents, if you look closely you can see the square imprint on the fabric. The undone section to right you can see the boxes that extend the vents to where the fabric will meet it. As of Saturday, eight of the twelve sections are done. in full sun, it looks great, though sections I saw in the shade (Spring side) you can tell they are tarps.
