At the entrance there is a display window that shows all the menu items. And The Ploughman's Platter is what I always get. Here is what the "example" looks like.

And the menus have descriptions.

?? it is themed for a NY pizza parlor, with some really good detail toward muppets and their puns. What do you want....the Electric Mayhem to jump in your lamp while eating?
So, I take you believe The Muppets are masters of understated subtlety?

It's a Muppet run restaurant. There should be **** flying through the air....on fire!

They really couldn't have missed the mark more on this project. This really is like painting Mickey on a chair and calling it a theme park.

How quickly can they cook those kind of pies would be the question. Would they be able to keep up with how busy the place will be? And how much would this raise the price?

Now, that is definitely definitely definitely not to say they could not improve on what they are currently serving. They definitely should do that. Disappointed that's not the case.

Its a good longer term solution increasing the dining space upstairs and removing all the patio furniture outside. It quite improves the pedestrian traffic flow as its not slated to be a cul-de-sac. The personal sized pizza is a no brainer as they've got a pizzabot that can crank them out continuously.

Looks pretty good to me. They went ahead and spent money they didn't strictly need to spend, and plussed Pizza Planet. That's a net positive in my book.... The pizza sucks, but look, you're in Florida, in a theme park, you get what you get.
Here's the thing about QS pizza- it is very possible to run a high-volume pizza operation without using frozen pre-made pies. Universal does both full-size (Louie's, Cafe 4) and personal (Comic Strip, IFFB/Fast Food Blvd) and has no trouble cranking out pizza while using fresh dough and assembling the pizzas in-house. i used to push out 500 pizzas a day at Comic Strip and rarely had guests waiting.

The difference is Disney doesn't want to pay a CM to make pizza all day, so they're content to use frozen pre-made product since they know their guests will eat it any way.

I very much enjoy the Antipasto Salad and am glad they kept it on the seemingly limited menu. I can sure go for one right now :hungry:

If you have a taste for plastic food, it is great. ;) Save the money and just chew on a plastic spoon.:in pain::joyfull:

Actually, the only real reference to the Muppets at all is Rizzo. It's not "the muppets" restaurant it is Rizzo's all it has are Pizza and a Meatball sub. That is themed italian, which the red and green floor tiles indicate. It is themed as a NY Pizza Joint and in that vain they hit it pretty good. You are the one that is insisting that it should be Muppet themed. It is in the Muppet courtyard, it is run by Rizzo there really doesn't need to be anymore then that except in the mind of a few. It is a place to have lunch not an entertainment venue. If you want to get all bent out of shape over it... be my guest, but, what a waste of time. It is not an attraction, it is a food location. If they throw a few more muppet related things in there, great. Is it necessary... not at all.

Theming and decoration are not the same thing.
Agreed, we went into this conversation withe Skipper Canteen, another missed opportunity. The side rooms at Skipper Canteen are themed. The mess hall is largely decorated. This appears to be both, but it definitely doesn't scream Muppets to me. More importantly, they didn't change the food from what I'm guessing was among the lowest rated quick service on property. Perhaps @lentesta can comment on Pizza Planet's ratings.

I think the theming is 10x better then what the cardboard cutout's from the dollar-stores previous version was. Being from NY, I think this is one of the best iterations of a NY pizzeria I've seen. I do think it's light on Muppets, but as @Next Big Thing stated, comparing this to Leaky Cauldron is almost impossible, or really anything in Hogsmede or Diagon Alley, Universal literally just had to copy it from the movie and replicate it. Plus, for anyone, what does a Rizzo themed restaurant look like?

Please tell me, what exactly does a Rizzo themed pizzeria look like to you guys?

Like the restaurant from Muppets Take Manhattan:

Only problem is it can't sit 700 people at once. I see Disney has taken their usual approach of trying to disguise the eaterie's size as smaller rooms with different decor, but from the pictures it still looks like it suffers from the same cafeteria feel as Be Our Guest. The old WED dining halls like The Plaza Inn, Columbia Harbour House and the original Adventureland Veranda, did a better job of hiding their scale.

Maybe trying to make a NYC street level pizzeria the size of a small factory wasn't the best idea to begin with? I think the new design looks good on its own terms, but I can also see why others would think it's only OK.

The Holidays and great Antipasto belong together. This needs to become a tradition if it isn't already.
