Ok so basically the soundtrack for a firework show is incredibly important, at least when discussing Disneyland shows. Can you have RDCT without the soundtrack and still have it be a really nice display? Of course, they're explosions in the sky. You don't need music for that to be cool. But, without the music, is there any emotion or energy? The answer, frankly, is no. The soundtrack ties the entire show together and can elevate or sink the show. It's just that important.

So I went back to rewatch TF for a second time, and for the most part my feelings are the same, although I liked the Coco part a bit more. There's way too many movies being represented and there's no real flow to any of it. Between the Buzz Lightyear segment and the Monsters one, there's a random clip of Dug and then later in the show there's a random clip of Russell. Neither make any sense and have no reason to be in the show. Buzz, Nemo, Cars, Wall*E, and Inside Out also need to be cut from the show. The show really should open with "You've Got a Friend in Me" by Randy Newman and then have it close out with the more high energy version.

The dialogue also needs to be drastically cut back because it absolutely ruins the Monsters segment by drowning out the music. Dialogue in a firework show is fine, both RDCT and Magical have dialogue, but they're usually used to set up the next scene and have value. With Monsters, the dialogue is just random lines from Monsters University, the inferior of the two Monsters movies, being spoken over the score. Allowing the instrumental "If I Didn't Have You" to just play would greatly improve this scene.

The perfect transition from Monsters Inc would be to the theme of A Bug's Life, "The Time of Your Life". Of course, they would never do that because who cares about A Bug's Life? Doesn't matter, because it's what would be perfect here. The Incredibles segment should be moved to after this and then have a new Nemo segment, but this time it's "Beyond the Sea" by Robbie Williams (though I would prefer Bobby Darin) after that. With that, the show can easily go into the slower portions with "When Somebody Loved Me" and UP's score. From there, then Coco's "The World Es Mi Familia," "Woody's Roundup," and closing out with the high energy "You've Got a Friend in Me."

Of course I don't think these changes would be perfect and I'm open to listening to critique of them, but I do truly believe these would greatly enhance the show. I don't know if they would be able to give me the chills that the soundtracks for Magical and RDCT can do, but they would overall greatly help the flow of the show imo.

What!? Which one? Not the really large one to the left of the castle right?

Link please.

Not sure which one. These are the only pictures I've seen that reference it. I don't know if it was actually done for the fireworks projections though.

Seriously, what a joke.

The one thing that I was excited for- a refresh of a poorly executed Tomorrowland pizzeria- with the opportunity to add some charm. They could have added a few of the old Starcade arcades, gotten rid of some of the awful 90s decor, and freshened up the menu.

And that's how Disney promotes it.

It's the forum fanboy reaction syndrome.

When something is announced - be confused
When concept art comes out - hate it
As it's being built - analyize it and hate it even more
When open - be there opening day and ride everything with long lines. Post favorable reviews
Lines settle down - still love it but some will revert to hate again and join the HOB

You forgot to add "Rinse and repeat" at the end.

No one. I think Disney drastically overestimates the general public recognition and attachment to the imaginatively named "Pixar ball"

Maybe the point is to reinforce the colors so that customers begin to recognize and associate them with the Pixar brand. The overabundance of bunting along Main Street sure does seem to indicate that's what they're trying to accomplish.
