Intermittent tourist curiousity: Is this crowd management in prep for SW:GE? Is storing as many people as possible in the POTC queue a worthwhile drop in that bucket?

Probably. It’s “penny wise and pound foolish” though. Helps in the immediate POTC area but makes everywhere else worse. It could be worse either way though if the standby lines get long enough.

Pirates of the Caribbean, which averages a wait time of -10 minutes, desperately needs Fastpass.

I dunno, when I was there a few years ago the line extended outside the Adventureland/NOS overpass and into the switchbacks next to Tarzan's Treehouse. We waited at least 45 minutes. Maybe that was unusual, but definitely not the first time for me.

Wild. I don't think I've ever seen it reach over 25 minutes.

FWIW here's a wait board from Spring Break 2016.

Didn't they find out last time that POTC doesn't need FP? The lines were much worst with it than without it.

That was what 13 years ago, back then there wasn't a new 14 acre land opening in 12 months. I wouldn't be surprised if next year they switch it to be MaxPass only.

What does SWL have to do with a ride getting FP? The ride doesn't work with it regardless of the fact there is something new elsewhere. I think I'll stay with Knotts and MM.

Disney will never pass up a chance to charge you twice. This is more about MaxPass than it is about FASTPASS.

The disaster didn’t work the first time around but hey, you know, the parks have only gotten more busier and crowded so it might just work this time.

Pretty soon, they'll start charging guests to wait in the stand-by line let alone MaxPass or even Fastpass.

The never ending cycle of new executives making the same mistakes as their predecessors over and over is hilarious as well as disheartening.
