Pirates Queue

The ques are very popular. Why should they stop doing something the guests enjoy and only two dozen 40 year old men on the internet disapprove of?

I'm 22. And I honestly don't think they're that popular.

The only queue that i think works is just the Winnie the Pooh queue. It fits the attraction and adds to it. SM's and HM's are annoying, disrupt the mood, and don't add much to the over all experience.

Hello all, heard an interesting rumor via a certain podcast the other day pertaining to interactive elements being added to the PoTC queue. I've ridden Pirates the last two days and noticed several scrim type blockades up throughout the right queue. Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm not sure, but I just want to say I LOVE your avatar. It's so dramatic! Plus, I can see a face in the clouds :D

Not to sound too much like a Richard Cranium but you must be blind. HM is a must do every time we set foot in the MK and I consistently see more people taking the long way through cemetery than bypassing it. I have yet to see one person, adults and kids alike, not enjoying themselves while playing the interactive elements. Just because you don't not like something does not automatically make it bad for everyone else.

I agree... Winnie the Pooh's que is fine.

Space's que bugs me because the dimly lit long tunnel with the mood music really sets you up for the "experience" of being in space... And that's been ruined by walls full of monitors and button clacks and computerized explosions. You can't hardly even hear the 3rd tunnel music anymore at all.

My issue with the HM's que is that ghosts aren't supposed to be visable (or whatever) until after Madame Leota... CERTAINLY not outside the building before you even go in. I don't know why, but that really bugs me. I like that they put some effort and money into making it... But the whole thing for me is flawed from the word "go" because we shouldn't see or know about any ghosts at that point.

Messing with PotC's que seems highly unnecessary. There's no FP (or FPP?), the line moves quickly... Why the need to mess with it? If they're adding in interactive elements, it tells me that FPP is coming in its future.

I for one, would like to see a water based attraction based on the film characters.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Escape from the Kraken...

I can see it coming to Typhoon Lagoon...

I don't care what's popular.
Haunted Mansion's original queue, as designed by the artists who created it, was art.
Even though it was located in a theme park aimed at children and families and situated next to a fiberglass cart that sold light bulb hats and candy, it was art.

And now, because management wants there to be more things for ADD-afflicted to children to rub their fingers on it has become lesser art.

I'm allowed to not like that.

This blog post sums up my feelings on the issue: http://passport2dreams.blogspot.com/2012/01/passport-to-dreams-year-end-report-2011.html

This critique makes no sense. The ghosts aren't visible in the mausoleum que. :brick: And yes, plenty of ghostly stuff happens before Madame Leota. Like the changing painting in the post-que waiting room, you know before the actual ride? Have you ever been on the Haunted Mansion before?

Since we're posing rhetorical questions, have you ever responded to someone without trying to insult them?

That you have too much time on your hands and have to follow people you don't agree with around like a little lost puppy? I don't know if that's much of a point, but I would suggest seeking assistance. Your phone book may have several help lines you may be able to use.

And again....

Keep it up, truly. I'm sure you'll be shown the door soon enough....

I don't want to see the door to your apartment. I'm not interested in your advances. I think this is highly inappropriate behavior for a Disney forum.

You truly don't have much in the way of reading comprehension, I'll give you that....

And you can always report me. Of course, that would also highlight your responses to just about everyone.....

The imagery before the seance is creepy or sinister and hints at ghosts.
The imagery after the seance overtly shows ghosts and is silly and amusing.

The queue ruins the progression, and that is the worst of several flaws.

Before the que addition, there was no visable signs outside of what was to be encountered inside. The point I made stands.

You can argue that ghostly stuff happens before Leota... I'm okay with that. I'd argue that what happens in the que is blatant, whereas everything before Leota is more in a "what am I seeing? Am I really seeing this" sort of fashion. The slowly changing portrait, the lightning flash pictures, the busts that follow you. But that's also why I said "certainly not outside the building before you go in". Outside the building, it's obvious. You INTERACT with them, for pete's sake. There's zero buildup anymore.

Or... You can choose to pick out parts of what I say to further your position. Whatever you like. I have a feeling you'll go ahead and do that either way.

dxer07002. He also said he hates things for being popular and wants the park to never change.

Bulls, avengers... did mommy give you back your computer after the time out??

Don't put words in my mouth... I never said I hate things that are popular... I never said I don't want the parks to change... I said the interactive queues are unnecessary... And they are...

Here is a tip, when you are banned, don't come back...

Exactly... The HM queue was completely unnecessary... However, if they just took out the cruddy noise and the interactive crap, the queue wouldn't be as horrible as it is... I rather like the Winnie the Pooh queue, but the interactive nonsense ruins it... Mostly, the noise...
