Why is POTC getting a refurb here soon, it got a major one about 2 years ago, could this be happening bc of the girl who dumped the ashes into the water?

Its closed so they can add Will Turner to the attraction

That's not true.

I actually spoke to someone in management recently.

They assured me that it was just a simple character overlay. In particular, she mentioned the waterfall would show a projection of Remy dressed in pirate gear and the dog would be replaced by Stitch squirting the boats with water.

Sounds awesome, IMO!

nah but seriously the ride has been shut down for 2 weeks so they can test Star Tours 2 inside the show building

I hope they fix the Davy Jones projection. It was not working April 1st at a P&PP. It is a great effect when it works.

Thanks for confirming, Steve. It's probably too early to ask this, but have you heard anything about it being opened early or at least on time? It will be closed the first day we are in the MK, but open for the rest of our visits there. That is my husband's favorite ride. I'm glad we'll get to ride it while we are there.

I think the wicked wench was becoming the black pearl, or at least that's what I've heard. Couldn't be fixed the first time around because of licensing(sp?) issues.

Well the license might have been bought just for the sole purpose of the movie and not for the upgrades to the ride, and now they have to hence have the license agreement re-issued. But I could be completly wrong, and have no clue what I'm talking about; think what you will.:shrug:

So why is it being refurbished? Adding more characters? Or just fixing any potential glitches? I'm so glad they did this NOW instead of when I was down there a few weeks ago. I would've been devastated if it was closed down during my trip.

Any idea if this will effect the Jack Sparrow show outside of POTC?
