We got the pin code too yesterday, but the free dining beats the pin codes for us. We're sticking with the dining! :sohappy:

Very glad to hear someone else say this!! I was worried that it did not sound correct.....you hear so often that room discounts are better than free dinning!!! We are sticking with the free dinning also!

 Yeah, really I could care less about the room rate, we're hardly in there anyway when we're at Disney. But food? Yeah, I want to be able to get the most out of my dining experience, and free dining does that FOR US! Enjoy!!

Sometimes they are, sometimes they are not. It will largely depend on your resort level and party size. For your typical family of 4 with 2 kids under 9 Free dining tends to win out at the values, it is a wash at the moderates and room discounts tend to win at the deluxe resorts. Of course every situation is a little different and you have to run the numbers to be sure.

Okay, this doesn't seem like a true pin code for discounts upon a second look. It's more like one of those standard package deals with a perk. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what it seems to me Or perhaps I'm trying to convince myself that's what it is because any window of travel I have is excluded.

If there is a code that you meed to give a CM at the bottom of the ad then it is a PIN code offer. If there is not then it is most likely a standard general public offer.

Exactly! Hubby was drilling me about this very thing two days ago. I had a heckuva time reassuring him that free dining was saving us more than a room discount would at POFQ. Our boys are considered adults. The free dining wins in a standard view!

I was very surprised...we are in a deluxe resort and our DD are 19 & 17, so when he said you would be paying $400 more with the PIN I was shocked. We have always found free dinning to be a great value for us. But I am always looking for a better deal.

Here's what I got yesterday:

Enjoy FREE ticket upgrades!Everyone’s idea of the perfect Walt Disney World vacation is different. That’s why we’ve got options to suit just about any taste and budget!

Now you can get the Park Hopper® Option AND the Water Park Fun & More Option added to your tickets, FREE when you purchase a non-discounted 4-night/4-day vacation package that includes accommodations and Theme Park tickets. That way, you can ride some of your favorite attractions at one Park in the morning, cool off at one of the Disney Water Parks in the afternoon and then check out fireworks at another Park in the evening! For stays most nights 2/27/11–3/10/11 and 5/1/11–9/29/11.

For example, enjoy this 4-night/4-day vacation package that includes
accommodations and Theme Park tickets for a family of 4 in a standard room
at a select Disney Value Resort for just: $93per person,
per dayfor a total package price of $1,477*.
For stays most nights
2/27/11–3/10/11, 5/1/11–6/2/11 and 8/14/11–9/29/11.

That's like saving $460*!

I already have non-expiration remaining WPF&M tickets, so I'd rather just get a room discount.

I also received a PIN yesterday. It was for $100 per night at a value?!?!?!? They are either crazy or know that I am already going on a Dissney cruise at that time. The rate doesn't even include theme park passes.

I'm glad to see your post. I was searching this site to see if maybe I was going crazy.

I was soooo excited to get my first pin code the other day then called and found out I would save $5/night at a value resort for my 3 night stay in early March.

What a complete disappointment. :(
