If so, you could win a very special prize, check out this announcement from the Disney Parks Blog:
John of the Jungle at Disneyland Park

Posted: 22 Aug 2011 01:09 PM PDT

Yesterday at the D23 Expo, John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer, Walt Disney and Pixar Animation, announced a pretty unusual contest – John of the Jungle.

Lasseter is known for bringing some of this generation’s most loved characters to life – Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Lightning McQueen, Mater – but few people know that he started out as a Jungle Cruise skipper right here at Disneyland park. He left this role with a love of Disney, storytelling and jungle lore – but without any photos of himself at the helm.

Now he’s out to fix that with John of the Jungle, a search for photos of him from his Jungle Cruise skipper days in 1977. Think you might have a shot of John in an old family vacation album? If you do, you could win a trip to the grand opening of Cars Land and a private Jungle Cruise with John Lasseter!

Find out more at JohnoftheJungle.com – and best of luck on the hunt!

Good luck all!!! Marie

Few people my butt. How many times has he told that story on DVDs that have sold millions? How many times have we heard this story? There was probably a commercial of him saying "HEY LOOK AT ME! I MADE TOY STORY AND I WAS A SKIPPER IN JUNGLE CRUISE! WOO HOO! It's a secret, don't tell anyone."

You would be surprised how many people don't actually know this. I have a friend who loves Pixar films and he never knew this.

Well, my hopes are dashed. My partner didn't go to DL until 1980 or 1981. I have never been, so there is no chance that we have a photo. :(

I hear ya. Not only have I never been to Disneyland, but I was born in 1977, so I clearly have nothing to offer the contest.

Disney fans know the story, but not the unwashed masses who think all cartoons are Disney.

It must be nice to be able to uncover old photos of yourself when you previously had none. For most of us, if you (or somebody you know) don't snap the shot yourself, you'll never get one.

We'll see where this goes.

I am actually quite surprised that there are not already pictures circulating online.

Yes, but Disney is very much about "secrets" that are not all that secret and that are told on multiple occasions. How much of the Travel Channel shows cover the same information as another?
