Ok, after my most recent trip to WDW, I have decided that HM is by far my favorite ride. After deciding, I started to wonder...are there any better versions? I have only ever been to WDW, so I have no clue what the others are like. I think this is a perfect time for a poll!

I'll be different and vote for the Disneyland version. True, the effects are better in the WDW version, but the exterior themeing, stretch rooms that actually go down and higher quality loading area push the DL version just ahead of the WDW version for me. But not by much. Unlike Pirates, they are both excellent and not to be missed and while Pirates is my favorite ride at Disneyland (just barely) the Mansion is far and away the best attraction at the Magic Kingdom and second only to the ToT in all of WDW for me.
Doesn't hurt that the DL version transforms into Haunted Mansion Holiday every year at DL, either!

I prefer the WDW over DL because you see more of the house. Phantom Manor blows both of them out of the water though. It was creepy, cheesy and startling all at once. The perfect HM.

The pole will be a bit biased since the majority of people here will only have done WDW but I`ll chip in. Phantom Manor closely followed by the new WDW version.

I give WDW a slight edge over Paris.

I've seen DL's HM ages ago. Don't really remember whether it was better than WDW. It certainly looked pretty, a beautiful Southern mansion.

I was in Paris two weeks ago, so I can compare. It is a close call. Now that WDW has upgraded and refurbished the HM, I think WDW beats Paris - albeit by the narrowest of margins.

Paris:
- The western theme in Paris didn't really work for me, although I appreciated how the whole of Frontierland is tied into a single backstory.
- Better gardens and setting! Beautiful. As in so many areas, Paris excells in the little things. No canopy queue here, a lovely yet eerie garden instead.

WDW:
- Better looking house.
- More and funnier tombstones.

Its a hard choice between WDW and Paris, but I'm going to have to go with WDW because well what Empress Lilly said really :)

I have been to WDW and DL. When I went to DL it was on Christmas Eve and it was all dressed for the Nightmarfe Before Christmas. It was pretty sweet. So, I really didn't see it the way it normally looks.

I voted for WDW's since it is the only version I have rode and it will always bring back old memories from when I was a kid, but I have to say that after watching a Phantom Manor clip on YouTube I must now head to France to see it in person it looks amazing.

Phantom Manor and the outside detailing is great, but WDW HM looks more like the archetypal(sp?) haunted house + it's in Liberty Square - one of my favourite places, so it gets my vote .

The exterior of Phantom Manor looks a little like the house from Psycho! I've never seen it in person....but in pictures, I expect Anthony Perkins to meet you at the door. lol
