Again, it's a work in progress.. I can tell you that if it were not for the massive Spring Break crowds expected, this area wouldn't be open yet.. They are doing as much as they can, as quickly as they can... I for one think it looks fantastic

I'm guessing since they are basically just moving the old one, he will still on that spinner and will be included once it reopens.

I remember hearing somewhere that Timothy will have an all-new role to play in the interactive queue.

The reason he's not on the spinners anymore is because there's only one Timothy Mouse and they can't have two Timothy's at once.

If it is notshow ready then it should not be open. As for capacity, that is management's own fault for whittling it away over the years. It just goes to show another reason why theme parks cannot be managed on a short term basis.

I remember one of the insiders here saying that FLE is close to 5 acres. Cars Land is 12. All comparisons aside, my point is Cars Land is in no way tiny
Even if they are of comprable size, the "blessing of size" still seems to be more of a curse at the Walt Disney World theme parks. That density and layering that makes Disneyland so rich is still lacking throughout the Florida property.

A quick measurement in Google Earth shows that Fantasyland including Storybook Circus is about 10 acres.

Love how the crashed rocket lights up and smokes at night. Gonna miss that effect when it's broken.

And I really hope they have some sort of entry gate to circusland.

There can only be one Timothy, but there can be 32 Dumbos?

Disney recently started providing shoes for Food and Beverage CM's but not any other positions to the best of my knowledge. The F&B was more of a safety so they could guarantee they had non-slip shoes. They are required to buy a certain color of shoe for their position. Some jobs and different locations have specific requirements.

As for storybook, love the water features. Will look great once everything is opened

Yes as of last May, after a long debate with the unions, WDW has been giving its cast all black shoes to wear to work with a few styles to pick from. It was first mandatory for F&B due to the slip resistant shoe requirements for them, then everyone else followed.

Prior to this Cast members had to buy their own shoes, they were always required to be all black and not have any noticeable company emblems on them (so no nice swoosh).

Also to another poster about the cast member’s white socks. Those are a required part of all cast members costume if they wear anything that is shorter than their ankles. Otherwise cast member must wear black socks.

Edit; And personally I really like all the new costumes and i hope that Fantasyland and Tomorrowland get some more new costumes, because both lands have some ugly costumes that really could be better.

In one of the pics you can see that the last and the biggest tower on the LM building has finally been topped off!:)

Critics are judging an incomplete section... remember, Petes sideshow, Casey Jr Splash Park, and a few other things are coming just in the storybook circus 'area' of new fantasyland... Not to mention The Little Mermaid attraction, be our guest restaurant, Seven Dwarfs mine ride, second dumbo & new queue and more...

I think it's pretty clear that the new area looks good. Very good. But that's not what I'm talking about here, and neither is anyone else I've noticed.

These things are ALL part of the Fantasyland expansion, and they will continue to open until through the end of the year.. Anyone saying 'it isn't much' is just being cynical about it because it's vogue to be a 'hater' these days apparently...

You know, that's exactly what I've been noticing. That people here lately seem to be openly criticizing the parks without any real knowhow. No, I'm not talking about 74 or Lee or any other..."big name" members on this site. I've just noticed some people tend to agree with what other people say too quickly. It's not to say that the criticism isn't well deserved (it usually is!), but some people just roll with it without really knowing why. It annoys me slightly because it makes it seem as though the words of other posters are crafting their opinions for them. It would be fine if we were starting some kind of fan revolution...that seems unlikely.

But I digress, that's a conversation for another time. I still think people criticizing the FLE are doing so because in the end, it doesn't give us any big, bold, shiny new rides you can't experience anywhere else (that seems to be the recurring mantra with imagineers recently, doesn't it?). When I think, "what if the entire budget went into one ride?"...well, you get the idea.

If thats all the critics have on the new stuff, then they are wrong. Most of them probably haven't set foot in the area anyway.. I was there today and it's amazingly well done, and the details are fantastic!

Again...it's hard to argue that the area doesn't look impressive. It does, and I'm glad it does (I especially like the new train depot). It just lacks rides I'd ever want to go on. It's like these new high-end meet-and-greets we seem to be getting more of. The detail that goes into them is mesmerizing, but I'm not planning on going in to see Magician Mickey anytime soon (that may change with age). It really is my own, personal, selfish standpoint that limits my appeal.

And as far as cars-land... You do realize that Carsland is TINY in comparison, and has a test track knock-off that travels at HALF it's speed? oh, and cars land is filled with kiddie rides!

Now here...you lost me completely. TINY in comparison, really? Not just in area, but in essence, scope and budget, Carsland is miles above FLE (pun not intended). Do you consider Journey to the Center of the Earth a "Test Track knock-off"? And since when is speed synonymous with ride quality?

Amazing...If the rest of this project turns out like this even the critics will have to eat some crew. Great Job Disney. I cannot wait to see it in person.

In light of my reputation as a "Critic" around here. I will say that I am pleased with the results here.

What a difference over what it replaced!!!! It's great to see MK's Dumbo finally have the water fountains like Anaheim, Paris and Hong Kong.

The Carlwood reference is a great thing to see as well.

The land looks exceedingly ugly. :hurl:

A toddler playground with a very provincial annual county fair in town. Just like those, I'm sure it's fun for the kids. Big props and a cacaphony of bright colors commonly excite kids. But there is no placemaking. Metal poles with canopies, oversized props, bare-structure kiddie-coasters are simply not Disney quality.
Dumboland is Chester and Hester part 2, not up to the standards of either old WDW, or TDL, or Universal.

~Should I add 1974 to my name?~
So are you saying this is up to Six Flags standards? Kings Island? Magic Mountain?
