Think they will convert stationary, free floating yachts moored at a new dock along the shores by Yacht Club??!

I don't know how they could be stationary AND free floating. I've not been to YC so I don't know the layout around the water. But, you know what? Your idea of "yacht rooms" sounds kinda cool. I don't know how practical, but would be a neat concept.

Stationary meaning tied up so it wouldn't float away. Free floating meaning it is an actual boat sitting in the water. Not drilled into the ground on pilings.

People live in boats at my town's Yacht Club, so it's a neat concept.

But I spoke my idea in sarcasm, I hope this would never happen.

Does this look like an entrance into the bungalow in this photo?

This is what it looks like on the other side of that utility wall.

Thanks @tikiman for the photos, It's unfortunate that except for the color of the tiles the bungalows look like old school Pizza Hut stores, Thematically appropriate thatching could have been used and before the Fanboi's start whinging about fire hazard the Tiki Room uses metal thatching which is quite fireproof, But it was not cheap and that's what todays WDW is all about unfortunately.

Polynesian Resort DVC construction photo update, as of Monday, Dec 1.

First, the re-worked volcano feature in the resort's main pool. You can see the pool slide in the first photo. Three photos taken from left to right, ending with new rock work on the pathway from the lower lobby.

Second, the villas over the water. New paint on the roof gables. There was a large truck labeled "GE Appliances" that was delivering "stacked" washer/dryer units. You can see them in the doorway of several villas here (in white).

Additional Polynesian Resort DVC construction photo update, as of Monday, Dec 1.

There is a large berm between the beach and the view of the villas, mostly behind the construction wall. This feature wasn't there before construction started, it was just a beach. In the first photo, notice the top of the berm is leveled-off (flat). There is a yellow construction tractor at the left end of the berm, which then slopes to the left towards the water.

IMG_4072.JPG

From another vantage point, the second photo shows the right end of the berm which is attached to the mainland. At this end, there is a new support building in dark green visible here. I don't have another photo to explain, but this green building has a lower level (in gray here) and another attached building on the right that is located at the original ground level. The green color should allow the buildings to "disappear" when surrounded by plants and trees in the future.

The top and sides of the berm have marking flags all over. Now for the interesting part. A construction worker said there will be a new restaurant located on this berm, overlooking the water. He had overheard this from other personnel.

Is this a known feature of the Polynesian Resort DVC plan? Or just another rumor?

The
Yes, they Are going to look similar because they are both modeling the same style... pacific island. The long houses have the exact same basic shape, yet nobody complains about them.

The difference is the thematic details on the long houses the faux lodgepoles and roofing material come immediately to mind.

Details like those used to define the 'Disney Difference' but without attention to those details.

We have buildings which evoke 'Pizza Hut' instead of 'South Seas Island Home' and instead of the South Seas Lagoon which was once crystal clear and swimmable now is the fetid Bay Lake infested with Amoeba
