Of most interest are the inclusion of some vintage Epcot figures from Imagination and World of Motion.

Did you mean to say Horizons? Or is there something from World of Motion, too?

I was happy to see the original model of IASW on display. I remember first seeing it in a documentary I watched over and over again as a kid, when Mary Blair was lighting it and Walt was explaining it during the 10th anniversary of Disneyland

Hmm, well, the animatronic man worked okay for me last time I saw it, but the Tiki Bird AA barely worked at all. At any rate, I don't suppose they'll be missed.

I agree that the refurb looks great, but I hope for more in the future. And I wish the outside of the building got a little more love. It should get a new facade that makes it look like a lavish movie palace. Walt deserves nothing less.

 Forgot about the Tiki bird. I guess you are right though, only a nerd like me would miss the Horizons unit (which I did get a picture of).

It would be pretty cool if naked Lincoln was doing his speech, and you could control his eyebrows or head movement :p

I still say that this should be in the Magic Kingdom, especially in the Town Square opera house, which used to house The Walt Disney Story.

It is the right place for this kind of tribute... and it should be its permanent location (even if the exhibits change).

That was quintessentially Walt's design. (A similar exhibit should always be on display also at Disneyland, next to Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, which is in the equivalent opera house space there.)

The blog just posted this about the legacy continues:

A new area entitled “The Legacy Continues” will focus on The Walt Disney Company highlights from the 1970s through today, and will debut next month. The heartwarming film tribute One Man’s Dream, hosted by Julie Andrews, remains as our finale.

Can't wait to see it all!

It IS good news. This was one attraction that could have easily been swept away, but instead they are breaking out new exhibits. Good job, Disney! :king:

Some of you are purposefully setting yourself of for disappointment. The official Disney blog stated (as quoted by yoyoflamingo)... the new area will be about the 70's until today. That's what its going to be. Fantasyland may be a part of it, but everything indicates this will be things that currently exist... not future or blue-sky projects.

Otherwise... looks like some great changes. A bit odd they put "Fall 2010" instead of "Coming Soon" (unless they thought this was opening sooner when that was done).

haha. isn't that the truth. The funny thing is that we were actually very pleasantly surprised and thorough enjoyed DCA last December. I had figured we would maybe spend a day and half there of our entire 6 days out there...mind you this was before WoC opened up. We ended up going there multiple times every day of our trip! We absolutely loved that park just the way it was!

I can't wait till Carsland opens up and we get to experience the new stuff the park has to offer!

I have never been to DL, but I can see why people over there do not like the park. I think I would like it a lot, though, even in its current state. But I am sure that every Disney fan out there will be able to happily agree that DCA is awesome after all the work is done.
