It's part of the interactive queue for Dumbo. From what we have heard it will contains games of some sort for kids to play while waiting for their turn in line.

Right, but I am a little confused about something. What are the two white tents out there now going to be used for? I don't remember seeing them in the concept art. Are they going to be a meet & greet?

So what does everyone think about the back of the Dumbo building? This is going to be fully seen from the Speedway and doesn't look very attractive. I don't even think shrubbery or trees will block it.

I think it's going to be covered by a circus tent. That's what it looks like in the art work anyway.

One will be a store, the other a meet and greet. They are in the concept art, but they are not white, that have thier final colored coverings on them. I doubt that either of them will be open by the March 12th date.

Which artwork shows this? The only art I have seen that shows the back of Dumbo is the model that was show at D23, which has nothing covering the structure that sticks out of the back of the tent. I am still taking a wait and see attitude towards this. Something still might be added back there to hide Dumbo from the speedway.

5th picture down on the left. It looks to me like a tent will cover it. I could be wrong. Maybe it's just hidden by the trees in this art. ETA: Wait, the recent picture shows a different shape to it. The concept art is definitely different.

I see the colored tents too now. I don't know how I missed it.

If you go to Scott Keatings' web site he has super-high res versions of all his photos, although as of this moment (11:30 EST, Feb 13 2012) he doesn't yet have this latest bunch up on his site yet

He's slacking off again :animwink: just teasing....nice pics as usual Scott. Can't wait to see it all completed!

Yep, that's old concept art. The back of the building will not be covered by anything, but rather hidden by foliage as best as possible.

I believe Casey Jr. will be the water play area (not covered by a tent) on the roundhouse outside of the train station. Another "train" will be themed to little food carts.

They did a nice job--very impressive compared to the previous incarnation, but even in that pic, you can easily see the queue building. I hope they do something...

Dumbo with no more scaffolding! http://twitpic.com/8jz7em

This looks great.

I see the picture also shows two workers who look like they are either preparing the other wing for painting blue or are actually painting it.

On the queue building for Dumbo, I think they moved this as close as possible to the speedway to make as much room as possible for the dwarves' mine train. I believe the intent has always been to hid it with landscaping. But I'd rather have more room used for the mine train and less used for hiding the new queue building.

Also, I don't think most people have heard that the Dumbo queue will not be a traditional line. I think many people think of the "honey screens" in Pooh's queue when they think interactive. I've seen rumors that this will be a totally different experience. I can see where some kids might want to stay in the queue longer and let others around them.

From that angle of the picture, it looks like landscaping will be placed so that trees will eventually hide it - maybe it'll take a few years, but it takes time for trees to fill in and grow. It seems like most peoples complaints are with the speedway, but I think that can even be easily remedied - there should be enough landscaping area behind the building for trees to cover at least most of it. It's a little tight where you come around a couple corners, but I still think it can be covered, just maybe not right away.

Agreed, or they could take the speedway out and put something that says "Tomorrowland" a little more loudly than a bunch of slow, noisy, smelly go carts. If the speedway is to stay, Disney does an amazing job with landscaping, as I'm sure you know, and in a couple of years, you are dead on; it won't be visible at all.

I still feel the need to ride these on our trips though - I don't know why...

When it first opened you could see the show building for Haunted Mansion (and maybe others) before the plantings grew up. Nevermind the skyway where you could see every ugly thing above the MK...

Orlando Theme Park News has posted some new construction pictures including some more views of the now scaffolding-less Dumbo tent. There is also a picture showing the top of the smaller tent has gone on in preparation for the outer surface of the tent to be installed.

It all looks amazing! I was there in Aug of 2010, right before they started building anything and I can't believe how much they've done in a year and a half. I can't wait to go back next year.
