I'm not trying to say that the Play Disney Parks people know about things ahead of time (in fact they're often far behind), but this is what Cindy's castle has always looked like in the app. No gold accents around the windows, but a definite rosy hue.

I'm afraid of it looking to warm after this is all done. I think Cindy's castle should look cool. Like a glass slipper. White, blue, and Ivory. Still not a fan of painting "stone" gold. That's something for metal accents IMO. It's really nice to see those faded blues spruced up though. I'm glad she's getting some love, even if it'll be awhile 'til she's done.
I agree. What is supposed to be stone should not be painted gold. If they put all the gold on that is shown in the concept photos it will look more like a casino or "house of ill repute" in my opinion.

Have you ever seen a House Of Ill Repute with 23k Gold leaf trim? I have not... Now casino...that might be a better analogy...

Yes, you are probably right.... Never been in a HOIR; I guess all that tacky gold somehow made me think of the term "painted lady."
I have however been in a casino that had gold plated slot machines and thought it looked quite gaudy and overdone. My first thought was "they didn't build this place off of people WINNING money." And of course I did end up contributing to their revenue stream. ;)

I hadn’t been following along the renovation, when I stumbled on this picture in an article. The blue looks plastic. They’re like blueberry popsicles melting off in the sun. The parts painted with @MouseBrayden ‘s rose gold look atrocious. They haven’t even started laying on the gold overlay! Things are going to get bad...

From March 23...

Can we please wait till it's done. We already saw the picture of the finished product and it seems a lot here liked/loved it. It's like you're anticipating something to be bad when you literally can see the color scheme in different Disney castles domestically or internationally. Maybe it's going to be bad based on your taste...

Not every turret had a final coat. Turrets were also the first thing to really get painted. I am reserving judgement until its finished. I personally don't mind the blue. The pink color seems a bit much though.

The blue reminds me very much of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle makeover, and that’s a good thing it looks very nice in person. I just wish that the pink didn’t remind me too, I liked the white (more true to the film) and don’t think the pink will look good when compared to Main Street.

Whats the difference anyway. It will all be faded by the Florida Sun in a year, then we'll all be complaining that the castle looks beaten and worn down.

Yeah...I'm not into pink to begin with...really disliking it. The blue is nice though.
They are giving Cindy's place a Florida sunburn to match the tourists, hope it fades soon.

Anybody have updates on the castle? If they open end of May to June, will guests see a brand new castle? It would suck if I would be there on reopening day and still see cranes and stuff.

I would expect that work to be completed in the week before the park opens to guests. It does not take very long with the moat drained and all the lifts. Weird dream last night, a fight in the sky over the hub where one of the lifts was fully extended when it was hit and fell sideways into the moat. Maybe a metaphor for the struggle over making the right decisions to open? I don't know but it had synergy 😂

Work stopped on this project along with other construction. Despite other rumors, the work is being done by third-party painters. There will be MUCH work to do once the “ok” is given.
