PHOTO - Sounds Dangerous removed from park maps, replaced with ABC Sound Studio

I remember seeing a live show at Universal Studios that highlighted the special effects used in horror films, with a comedic flair added to the show. I think that the building formerly known as The Place In Which Sounds Dangerous Could Be Seen would make a nifty location for something along the lines of a live stage show in which something having to do with movie-making could be highlighted.

Nah. I say throw an X Factor show in there.

Here's a real suggestion: remove American Idol, and combine the two buildings into a new Star Wars attraction.

i would love if they put a star wars vr helmet cutting edge devices put in there. So with star tours you have the aircraft travel and with this you have the jedi experience.

to all those Disney dreamers out there, I wouldn't hold my breathe waiting for a major attraction to replace sounds dangerous. While most people didn't like the show, I enjoyed the break from the hustle and bustle of the park. I also enjoyed the post show as well. Most likely, the only thing we will see as a replacement is a new Meet and Greet. With FLE and Avatar on the horizon, I cant see Disney putting any money into creating something worth wild as a replacement. Prob just another low budget meet and greet.
On a separate note, the new POTC walk through better be 10 fold better then the Narnia attraction they had their before. Last time I went down, I saw a 45 minute wait for that stupid Narnia thing and I just wanted to run down the entire line and scream" Dont waste your time! It's just a movie trailer for a movie that was in theaters years ago."

It's a huge space in a marquee location. This shouldn't be two shows, it really should be a marquee family attraction. This is the spot where an attraction that would take the burden off TSM should go. I suggested Star Wars because then you could really start making the park a bit more cohesive with the Lucas land that we all seem to want.

I'd love for something like the Pooh's Hunny Hunt tech, or the track switching/warring coaster concept from gordonrides.com.

Meh, now it won't be anything. At least Sounds Dangerous was an attraction. I don't like removing any attraction without replacing it.

While we're on the topic of that area, how's the American Idol Experience doing? Are they drawing any crowds? Cutting back more shows?

It does okay. Nothing earth shattering, but decent numbers especially in higher season. I agree with the Star Wars attraction. Kill the Indy show and make it Indy Adventure, and you have an instant Lucasland. At the very least, make the old Sounds Dangerous a replica of the Mos Eisley Cantina and make a fortune on space booze.
