i remember a different sound effects show in that area from many many moons ago. i thought it was at disney, although old memories get foggy.
because it was actually very funny and did indeed draw large crowds. maybe a re-work back closer to the original (assuming i am right, and it was at disney) could at least utilize the space without a major investment and draw some of the crowds from the other attractions.

Meh, now it won't be anything. At least Sounds Dangerous was an attraction. I don't like removing any attraction without replacing it.

Have you ever been to Stitch's Great Escape? It might change your mind on that.

I agree with The Mouse, you're not going to visit every attraction when you visit a park, but the more options you have the better. It helps spread the crowds, even if the attraction is largely unpopular.

I hope something is replacing Sounds Dangerous, although my preference would be something larger would replace Sounds Dangerous and American Idol Experience.

That space could fit something the size of the Indiana Jones Adventure/Dinosaur...

The Indiana Jones ride would be perfect there. It is right across from the IJ show and it would start to create mini-Lucus Land. Star Wars has a ride and a show (Jedi Training Academy). Like Star Wars, Indiana Jones is a very popular franchise to this day.

I agree it is time for American Idol to go. You can see bad karaoke in any bar in any town. You don't need to go to Disney and pay a fortune for it. We go to Disney to be entertained...to be amazed. AI does not do that.

DHS deserves so much better. That park could be amazing. It is so lacking. The Backlot tour is nothing but a crowd eater that takes you to a one minute show at Catastrophe Canyon. They don't film at DHS anymore and haven't for a long time. They took down the "backlot" and all is filming streets when built Lights, Motors, Action.

There is a reason TSM has crazy lines besides it is one of the best rides Disney has... it is because there isn't a ton to do at DHS. The other good attractions (Rn'RC, TOT) have been around for a long time, so TSM and Star Tours 2.0 are the only real excitement one can look forward to at DHS.

Disney show some real love to DHS by giving us a new quality attration in this space!

I completely agree with this. I've always thought that the American Idol Experience is better suited for Downtown Disney. Build it into a dinner theater and put on a couple of shows a night. I guess I've always seen it as more night entertainment than a park attraction.

I'd love to see a greater Lucas influence in the park.

While we're on the topic, I'm wondering why they've never done more with Echo Lake. It just serves as a barrier between you and the attractions. I wouldn't mind them taking some or all of that space and annexing it for IJA or MI, or something comparable. If it was a nice area to look at then that would be one thing, but all it has right now is a dinosaur and some ice cream .. they can do better.

Bring back Super Star Television. It used to be one of my favorites

Superstar Televison was great!

However, I believe DHS needs rides not more shows. Right now the only reason DHS is a fullday visit is because you have to stay all day to try to make the schedule of all the shows. I find I am standing around a lot waiting for "the next show."

I would love them to bring back SST. I was always picked out of the audience when i was a kid. But alas, it is not meant to be. There will be nothing going on in there except the occasional special event. It's one thing if they are removing drew carey and putting in a better attraction. But to put in Nothing? Another bad show by DIsney!

Count me amongst those that miss Superstar Television, but as much as I'd love to see a modern version of that attraction, I don't want it in it's old theater. That's a prime ride spot.

I believe it was called Monster Sound Show. I remember Chevy Chase was in it and it was very funny!
I even was picked as a volunteer. Somewhere I have pictures of me trying to make sound effects for the movie.

But the Times Guide, that little sheet of paper that lists Show Times, Character Greeting Times and other Special Hours, still says this:

ATTRACTIONS
Sounds Dangerous-Starring Drew Carey..........Temporarily closed
