You know, I'm fed up. I purposely went to WDW on opening day of Mine Train to help be the eyes and ears of the soft opening and contribute to this forum. It's a 5 hour drive back and forth. I didn't have to go, since I spent 3 days there with my sister a couple of weeks ago, but it's something I wanted to do. Not that I need to earn everyone's respect here, but if it was anyone else, the reaction I got on another thread of this forum would have been different if it had been someone else posting! My grief isn't with you all - my friends - but with a few sour grapes who would rather see me disappear. I just got home after spending an all nighter at the MK and I've been fighting this during my drive home (yes, I was posting and driving). Maybe I just need some rest and I'm overreacting. Thanks for listening!

Peter, you need to post things int he right place.

There are 10's of thousands of posts about the Mine Train in the dedication section for it at http://forums.wdwmagic.com/forums/fantasyland-expansion.126/

In particular, there is a thread with over 300,000 views dealing with the soft opening:
SOFT OPENING WATCH - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster

For Rock Your Disney Side, there is a thread where everyone has been reporting from the park:
Rock Your Disney Side - 24 hour character party at Magic Kingdom

You can't just keep posting everything in a spirit thread, when there are proper places to put things. When people are looking for information, they are going to look in a thread on that subject.

If you post in the right place you will get a much better reaction from other readers.

Looking forward to seeing any additional pictures, or reading any other observations you had from your trip to the MK yesterday. I had my yearly Disney vacation this past week (returned home Tuesday night). The 7 Dwarfs Mine Train had not yet opened, and I guess I missed it by just a few days. So I'm really interested in your trip thread there. Thanks for sharing your experience with it.

Okay. I've slept and I'm in a better mood. I'll upload the 3D ride through video of Mine Train in a little bit...

I was just tired and grumpy and excited at the same time...

Hey, I fit the role of one of the dwarfs! Lol

You have no clue what I've been through to get that... It needs to be posted where people will see it, and I'm not sure if either locations are...
Then perhaps in it's on thread instead of buried deep within the pages of otherwise dead threads?

Back to monorail switches...

On my return, after the park closed, I was walking around the parking lot for two hours because I forgot where I parked! Any way, as I was walking around, I took a good look at the monorail pylons, as I passed by them. I noticed two things:

1. The MK loop is in excellent condition, and the EC loop is in bad shape! Why is this?

2. I noticed a bunch of those things that I had taken pictures of inside FW a couple of weeks ago that I thought could have been partial switch joints. Since these things are all over the MK loop, I must conclude they are not switches or even partial switch joints. I still have the pics in my PC if anyone still wants to see what I'm talking about, but I'm admitting defeat on this one...

You're free to repost the link for me. I would actually appreciate it if you do it and save me from getting in trouble for posting it too many times!

They are indeed expansion joints.

Sometimes it's easy to misinterpret what you see, upon initial viewing. (I'm sure that's happened to most people at some point.) The positive outcome here is that the other night you you took a closer look, (at what you originally thought were switches or partial switch joints), and concluded upon careful inspection, that they were neither.

Glad you made this updated discovery, and shared your amended information with those of us following your trip report.

Maybe it's just an issue with my iPad, but the video is like this funky split screen and the colors are off. It also doesn't look three d.
You need to play it on a 3D television or monitor, or format it for the red/blue 3D glasses. YouTube has a variety of 3D settings.

Well, they will be getting the bands, but we won't be getting their Space Mountain.
Ah, not exactly true. I read they they just begun a company-wide project on how to implement elements of MyMagic +, beginning with the cruise ships.

As for Space Mountain, I love ours, but there's sooooo much room for improvement!
