footing?

Isn't this what we have all been waiting to hear about?!?!

No pictures? I cry FOUL!!!
I said that wasn't the goal. I had one try that lasted a micro second. My camera wasn't even ready at the time, since I was busy trying to take in the new ride. I tried to get it ready in a hurry but I wasn't fast enough. I didn't know exactly where to be pointing the camera and when to be pointing it. The outdoor turns were fast and sharp. I stayed alert during that time. I had to almost be in a standing position to see it. It was very visable with the naked eye but visible for a split second.

Had we had gone on a second time, I may have been ready to image it. But we had more WDW to see.

I wanted to see this for myself for self-assurance that I had been right. I needed to prove it to myself first. Done.

Went straight from WDW to Mom's Day dinner 3 hours away in West Palm Beach. Done.

Now, I'm home and I'm all caught up with all that is "new" (to me) at WDW. Next on the agenda is to relax, catch up with my TV shows, and write a comprehensive trip report and review on each attraction.

Pretty sure the transport system that this was designed for was pedes homini.
Yes, Sir, you are right. I'm not saying it was designed for anything other than foot traffic, but there is enough room to run a system in addition to foot traffic under it. Intentional or not. Doesn't matter. It's doable without having to elevate such a system. That's my point. The facts on the ground are ideal for minimal capital cost.

A quick complaint about LS with Nemo:

Why is Disney using dolphins in captivity? Putting an animal with brains that are actually larger than ours in captivity is nothing more than a jail sentence to them! What did they do to us? Such peaceful and intelligent animals deserve better than that!

I couldn't look for a long time without getting upset and teary eyed and angry that Disney would do that!

I may be mistaken but I believe those animals were injured in the wild. I think there is a thread somewhere on this topic.

A quick note on the condition of the parks:

We found all the parks, except EPCOT, in tip-top shape. All the chatter here about how bad TDO is is simply not true, from what we had seen. They went out of their way everywhere to make sure service was top notch and that everyone was having a satisfactory time.

We found only Its a Small World to be in bad shape. That ride just needs to be replaced with something else and rebuilt as the DL version somewhere else.

World Showcase is in great shape. Future World needs a lot of work. The recent updates help, but are but drops in a bucket. The Soaring update will help. A total redo of Imagination will be a big help.

Mission:Space needs to be replaced. Maybe a replacement could use the centrifuge somehow so that its $200 million investment wouldn't be a total loss. Any replacement should have dark ride elements, special effects, post show exhibitions, and should not be a puker. It's just sad having the smell of puke there at M:S. That's not Disney!

At DHS, we found plenty of room near Star Tours, including NY Street, where a Star Wars themed land could go. Elsewhere, we found plenty of room for other new things that could go in.

I'm really irked by the bad rap people on this board have given TDO. I have nothing but praise for them! They are doing an incredible job as far as ride up-keep goes and customer service! So, I am really baffled as to where all this bad blood towards TDO is coming from!

Have they simply straightened their act up and we are seeing them at their best in recent years?

On our car ride home, Sara and I had a two hour discussion about Walt Disney and his original EPCOT vision. We got into a debate about Walt himself. She said EPCOT was socialist idea. I tried explaining that Walt was a conservative and wanted to use EPCOT as a display of corporate ingenuity.

She thinks Card Walker is the only person who really understood what Walt waned to do (besides Walt himself) and did the right thing by stopping it from happening and creating EPCOT Center. She thinks Walker understood the potential dark side of Walt's original concept and saved Walt's legacy by killing it.

Now, the BIG news everyone has been waiting for...

While walking around FW, I went up to the monorail pylons, where there would be switches, if the alleged monorail footing were real. Lo and behold, partial switch joints DO exists! My phone was out of battery, but I had taken with me a 3D digital camera with a telescopic lens. I took several close-up pics of the switch joints in 3D. Later, I'll import those into my PC and post them in both 2D and 3D.

This is the smoking gun! If there's monorail footing where it's been claimed, then they would have required switches for such a spur. One switch would be needed by UoE and another by TT. Those pylons are where switch provisions exist, and what I took pics of using my telescopic 3D camera. There may be two other switch provisions on the other side of FW as well.

So, take that you skeptics! I do believe apologies are in order for all the grief...
