Pete meet n greet rumor

I'm almost certain that he walked the park (MK) in the '70s. I know that the Big Bad Wolf did, along with the Three Little Pigs and Alice's friends from Wonderland (the White Rabbit, etc.). I have those characters on home movies of my family there in 1972 or so. They were in a parade in front of Cinderella's Castle.

And the parade, by the way, was a lot more up-close-and-personal. The characters were WALKING, not on floats. It was an old-fashioned, regular-old parade. No characters so high up in the air that they seemed unreachable and impersonal.

I have transferred these films to videotape, but they seriously need to be transferred again, to DVD for posterity.

Although part of me has to think somwhere in time, wether it's MK or California, Pete has somewhere made an appearence, it is a little strange he doesn't have more of a presence in the parks, when you really think about it, given his history.....(MNSSHP would be a great time to break him out, though! hint, hint?)

I haven't heard a specific time frame. It might be a little down the road.

About time they bring him into the parks. He is the oldest active Disney character after all, being around before both Mickey and Oswald as the villain of the Alice Comedies.

Exactly right. Given his prominence in the history of Walt Disney and the Walt Disney Company, it's always been a pet peeve of mine that he isn't better represented in the parks. I hope this rumor is true. Given Drew's track record, I have no doubt that it is. :)

It's amazing that today's kids still know who he is, since the Disney Channel has been essentially the Hannah Montana channel for so long now, with little or no reference to characters like Pete.

It just goes to the strength of classic Disney characters and shows that they break through such barriers. (It also reminds us of the variety that the so-called Disney Channel should still have.)

I'm equally almost certain ( ;) ) that he never did. If you find the film, I'd love to see it (not to prove you wrong - I'd just like to see ole Pete circa: 1970s).

I all for introducing new characters to the parks for Meet and Greets but come on..Pete over Phineas and Ferb???
I'm sure that CMs get asking regularly about where they can meet P&F. I'm not so sure about the general interest in meeting Pete.

I am VERY glad to hear this, Pete's been a long time favorite.

For members still confused as to who Pete is, check out A Goofy Movie, it is one of his more well-known "modern" roles.

However, as previously mentioned he has been present in Disney cartoons since the beginning, from Steamboat Willie to Goof Troop.

It's about time he made his way over to the parks!

ITA with you about Phineas and Ferb needing to be at WDW. Supposedly they are bringing them to Studios.
