1. Keeping your wallet in your back pocket is extremely bad for your spine.

2. If you don't want to pay for Brooks Brothers or Vineyard Vines, go with Old Navy Broken-In Khaki Shorts for Men, 10". Full price is $25 and they're often on sale for $15 or less. 100% cotton, 0% teenage skateboarder.

3. Bathing suits should sit just above the knee. Casual shorts (like above) should sit at the knee. You should never be wearing shorts that fall below the knee. Ever.

There’s a caveat here for kids..

Sometimes their mom adheres to that rule..

And then the next night, she breaks it. Why? Because she’s too cheap to keep replacing clothes every 2 months.

I have lived, and learned, that always wanting my kid’s shirts and bottoms to fit perfectly is a fruitless and expensive endeavor, and I’m done with it. Sometimes he looks sloppy, as pictured above. :(
Men don’t have that excuse though. :)

I honestly never knew the hate towards cargo shorts. Its pretty much the only thing I can find to wear since I am over 6 feet tall that fit correctly and dont have two pale white knees sticking out below the inseam. Also, I dont know of many cargo shorts that have more than 6 pockets. 2 on back, 2 hand pockets, and 2 leg pockets. Thats only two more pockets than a normal pair of shorts. Now carpenter pants..... Thats some serious amount of pockets.

Of course. My three year old daughter definitely has a couple of "shirts" that are really dresses from a year ago.

I have a friend who is on the large side but has the confidence and attitude to make a trash bag look good. So, I don't think the definition of "good bodies" is cut and dry. I wish I had a 1/3 of her confidence.

I didn't say larger people can't or don't look good.
Just that fit people look good in almost anything, particularly in less or tighter clothing.
I know you're not saying so - but, I don't believe my views are extreme.

This post redeemed you as I was just about to pull your man card for your admission that leggings aren't pants.

The problem with a lot of my dress shorts is that the pockets are side cuts or are very shallow. Keys, phone, anything in there spills out constantly and is prone to getting lost. This is one reason why I prefer shorts that have a deep pocket and if they are with a zipper it is a huge plus for me. Peace of mind.

I try to keep my money clip/case in my buttoned/zipper pockets up front. It only goes in my back pocket when that pocket has a button or zipper.

I have extremely muscular legs, think NFL Running Back legs, and it's not comfortable for me to wear shorts above or at the knees at all. Plus that sort of cut looks awful when you have very big legs. All of my shorts always sit just below the knee for me.

Sorry, but I cant stand the hipster look especially with the skinny short look. My point still stands, I would rather wear PJs than those shorts out in public. Shorts go below the knee. Also, again, I am over 6ft tall. 10" goes above my knee. 11" sits at my kneecap, and 12" goes below it. Also those shorts are ugly. Their is more room in cargo shorts that you cant get in dress shorts.

These are what I wear, made by Duluth:

My first juicer was a Jack Lalanne 😂😂
White, huge, annoying to clean. We’ve come such a long way since those days. 😂

People are just giving you a hard time, have fun with it. Only in 2018 would someone make it sound bad to call someone “fit”, and that it must be an offense to everyone else who doesn’t work so hard for it.:hilarious:

I’m in the worst shape of my life right now, ever. Because I’ve become a little lazy, yet somehow I’m not offended by those who are in good shape. Good for them, they earned it.

I cant believe people would rather be uncomfortable and stylish than comfortable and utilitarian.... I just dont understand. And I fully understand. My legs have always been muscular. My wife bought me a 10" pair of dress shorts and they just rip into you when sitting down or driving. Those were promptly returned.

I don’t even think cargo shorts are sloppy... just funny. WHY do men need so many pockets?! What do they put inside of them?

However, I’ll admit that sometimes I’m a little jealous of the pocket space.
Same...my dad wears cargo shorts (nice-looking ones too) to the parks all the time. Since we go “bag-less” most of the time, if any of us don’t have pockets, he gets to carry our phones and stuff. Fortunately we’ve learned to travel light, so he doesn’t have to carry that much.

Well, to be fair the shirt that depicts the pocket protector and the taped glasses are cut off in that image.

I don't think you know what "hipster" means. If the shorts I posted are anything at all, they're New England preppy. But not really, as New England preppy would typically be much shorter and either salmon, Nantucket red, or covered in lobsters/crabs/sailboats.

I also don't think you know what "dress shorts" are. The shorts I posted are not dress shorts, they're casual shorts.
