Both the leads Walker Scobell and Leah Sava Jeffries (Percy and Annabeth) were 13 when filming started in 2022.
Aryan Simhadri was 16, he plays Grover who is in his 30s in the book but looks like a teenager.
So they are all age appropriate for their roles.

This looks to be a well done telling of these stories.
Sadly, has 100% less Alexandra Daddario, who was great in that Mike White HBO (Max?) series.

When casting started, the protagonist was 12. He was 13 when cast. He's now 14.

Variety has an extensive article out on Rick Riordan and the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians coming to Disney+ in December. Here are a couple items from the article.
"On the topic of considerations across other levels of Disney, like merchandising and theme park potential, Burke smiles. “I will say that there’s incredible support across the Walt Disney Co. for ‘Percy,’” she says, and notes that Disneyland is already passing out “Percy Jackson”-branded candy bags for Halloween. “But Percy Jackson World at Disney World! I want the Imagineers on that right now.”"
