PC Redhead Meet and Greet

The original ride was planned and conducted with a particular cartoony style that created an ambiance and character to the attraction. It was planned, created, and executed by a team to create an attraction that the public adored. The voices and their characteristics were part of that attraction and made it what it is. Throwing in a voice like this does not mesh with the attraction and stands out taking away from the immersion and style of the experience.

How many Caribbean pirates were native to the Caribbean? And of those that were, how many grew up with the native indigenous tribes rather than in a European settlement?

IOW, there was no Caribbean accent back then. If they were White, they were European foreigners and immigrants. And since Redd is a redhead, it seemed typical to assign her ancestry to either Irish or Scottish. And there's this...

Imagine Redd speaking Jamaican Patois lol

Despite my love of John Wayne and John Ford's work, especially together, it's odd that I've never seen The Quiet Man. I definitely would've seen it by now if it was a western.

Its a classic Irish film. If you're into Irish customs or anything Irish, its a good film to watch. Great landscapes of Ireland are shown.

I haven't seen it since before my grandmother died almost 20 years ago. Gotta watch it again one day.

We know pirates came from other parts of the country. We weren’t born yesterday.

However Redd’s accent is random AF, as well as her voice in general. It doesn’t mesh well with the rest of the attraction and it’s out of place.

Someone said it was specifically Irish or Scottish, and that made it out of place. My reply was to let that person know it wouldn't have been out of place.

So, I don't know what sort of blind hate you're posting today, but, I hope you feel better. And, I forgive you.

???

Go back and read through the other Pirates thread. I don’t know what the point of this response is.

Not sure what the point of you referring to my so-called feelings, but I’m not looking for forgiveness from you. Who are you?

Weirdest deviation from a thread. A Redhead is not supposed to be a Caribbean native. No Caribbean pirate is native to the Caribbean. I know you guys weren’t born backwards, but in trying hold Disney to the fire on theming consistency, you make no sense.

In a Youtube video, there was footage of Br'er Fox interacting with guests who were eating at the old Space Place Restaurant. I also remember running into Br'er Bear once, a decade ago.

Why can't they do cool characters like that? More obscure and rare ones that fans would actually get excited about?

Disney has a huge library of underutilized characters, it'd be cool if they started throwing rare ones into the mix every once in a while to liven things up.

It was super late at night when I wrote my post... This is why I need my coffee. I realize that most colonists (and pirates for that matter) were from Europe. The accent just doesn't sound right to me.

Too lazy to edit my original post right now...

You don’t have to make up an excuse for what you wrote, especially since a few of us agree with it. Redd’s accent is out of place, red hair or not.
