PC Redhead Meet and Greet

In a Youtube video, there was footage of Br'er Fox interacting with guests who were eating at the old Space Place Restaurant. I also remember running into Br'er Bear once, a decade ago.

Why can't they do cool characters like that? More obscure and rare ones that fans would actually get excited about?

Disney has a huge library of underutilized characters, it'd be cool if they started throwing rare ones into the mix every once in a while to liven things up.
Go to Disneyland Paris if you want rare characters, honestly.

Except, objectively, according to real history... it's not out of place.

If I was referring to real history, I wouldn’t have made the comment.

The context surrounds Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean ride and how Redd stick out in a bad way in comparison to the other characters we see in the ride. The context does not surround actual history.

But the context of this discussion of the accented started with the claim it wouldn't be found in real history. That's what the context in which we were talking.

The original point started in another thread. Some people, myself included, said her accent and voice didn’t match well with the other pirates and seems random in comparison.

I’m sure we can all agree that pirates came from everywhere. However the main gist of the argument was that Redd sticks out like a sore thumb in the attraction because of her new, cowgirl (thanks, @mickEblu) voice and her Irish accent, which doesn’t match the sounds and accents of the other figures.

I probably wouldn’t mind the accent so much of the tone of voice and matched more with the other figures.

Well, some people can pull off accents wells, others not so much, that is true.

I was just in Disneyland Paris for a few days...the only "rare" character I found was Mary Poppins, Bert and the Penguins all meeting at 1 time...other than that, everyone there was the same as DLR and WDW.

Why would a lone Redhead with Irish accent be outside the context of The Pirates of the Caribbean? She’s the lone Redhead and woman Pirate. She is unique in search of treasures like everyone who does this. Outcasts of society.

Maybe we need a Spanish Brunette. A Penelope Cruz type. Angelica, daughter of Blackbeard, girlfriend of Jack, and she’s a pirate.

Look up any video of the 2018 Disney Fandaze event from Paris a few weeks ago if you want a good example of rare characters.

This is so bizarre
That's nothing, You should had seen the Grand Celebration Cavalcade at Disneyland Paris's 25th Anniversary (Which was one day only) where they had 200 characters marching down Main Street on the day of it's anniversary last year. Did I mention half of the characters are from lesser known Disney films such Burrito and Flying Gauchito from The Flying Gauchito segment from The Three Caballeros.

Its funny you mention this, a lot of people think this. This is more about art imitating art as it was Hettie that was really kind based on Edna Mode as NCIS LA came out after Incredibles.

Edna Mode I would think is more an amalgam of different designers from the 1940s-1960s, such as Edith Head.
