Passholder Lines

Hrm...I like the idea. I wonder if it came about due to the fact Passholders tend to move through the entry pretty quickly since we know what to do. There's nothing worse than getting stuck behind people who can't figure entry out to save their life! LOL

Yeah, as soon as I see a CM with a tablet come over to a tapstile, I switch lines. This is a boon for everyone by moving out of the regular line the people who are generally self-serve (i.e., they need minimal oversight) when it comes to the tapstile.

An excellent question. Since they already have a fair bit of info about you as an AP holder, will they treat this similarly to the TSA+ program?

Which could quite easily be completely made up hours before you got your AP from from a ticket booth or Disney Springs. You could then just go to your car get what every you wanted and then enter the parks... So APs would still need to go through security.

Since it's probably not security lines, but ticket lines... is there really a ton of value here?
It could save a couple minutes if it's for the entry lines. Nothing to buy an AP specifically for but it's a step in the right direction of making AP holders still feel valuable to Disney since their passes have been increasing in price while slashing perks every year. Hopefully this is the start of a trend that gets adapted to the other parks as well.

As an AP to two Disney resorts, I have to say I don't want perks. I dislike separate treatment, roped-off areas, private lounges. Everything ought to be equally accessible to everybody.

There might be something to the argument that the AP traveller is commonly self-sufficient, and can suffice with an entrance with mininal staffing. Which saves Disney money through less staff, or potentially this staff could be moved elsewhere to speed up the process for the plebs (and potentially Elvis might show up as the main act of next year's Eat to the Beat concerts).

Seeing as most pass holders (gold & below) are blacked out during this time, it will only be useful for a very small percentage. Therefore, the benefit to pass holders overall will be negligible and there is likely no benefit for the average guest.

Not a complaint. Just an observation

They are running this through at least January.

APs are usually efficient and do not require much CM assistance to get in. If you split them off, you decrease the average wait time for ALL guests to enter. As long as they maintain existing staffing. Not sure how anyone can complain about that and yet some (ironically Passholders) are finding a way (that's not directed at you, by the way).

I don't live in Florida but I go to WDW a couple of times a year so I get an AP. My family is very fast through the turnstiles, we use both hands putting the band and the finger on at the same time. I don't know why they can not explain that process to the masses to make it go faster for everyone. I think a separate line for AP's is a great idea. Our local zoo has a separate entrance for members, so I don't think this is a novel idea that anyone should get upset about. There is nothing wrong with giving "perks" to those who go more often and, presumable, spend more money at a place. Heck, almost all stores and restaurants now have a loyalty program.

The masses are imbeciles.
