We were having a discussion in another thread about park hopping and what would constitute "typical" touring behavior. I'm interested in knowing how people here on the forum approach WDW visits.

QUESTION: Please estimate what percentage of days, out of all of the days you've ever spent in WDW since 1989 (when DHS opened), that you've visited three or more parks in a single day.

EDIT: for purposes of the poll, this is just the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom (no waterparks, DTD, Discovery Island, etc).

Less than 1%. I've only done that once and it wasn't meant to be park hopping but just kind of happened. I prefer to stick to one park per day to be able to enjoy it all and take my time. The "half day" parks of DHS and AK allow trips to DTD, relaxing time at the pools or dinner at a resort.

My family are going to do all 4 parks in one day on our trip next year just to say we did it but I don't think most people do it too often.

Probably visit three in one day 30% of the time I've been there. Typically we do one park a day (MK, Epcot, DHS then AK, in that order) until we've hit them all. Then we start park hopping, usually hitting two or three parks a day. But that plan will probably start changing...I know we're park hopping every day on my upcoming January trip.

I've never done it. 3 parks in one day is crazy. There is simply not enough time to really enjoy 3. Maybe two, but even that can be pushing it depending which parks you go to.

When the scheduling is just right, it is a fun "project" to watch Fantasmic, get on the boat to Epcot, watch Illuminations, get on the monorail to the Magic Kingdom, and watch "Wishes". We've done that several times and never regretted it! :sohappy:

I've wanted to do this when my family came in April but they changed the park hours a few days prior and it made it all a mess.

I'd like to do this once in my lifetime tho!

We will hop quite frequently. Our trips are typically short weekend trips planned around the special events in the parks. It is not uncommon for us to hit three parks in one day especially during Christmas. Our Christmas trip this year has been cut down from four days to two and it would not surprise me if we hit all 4 parks in one day on that trip.

We don't hop, it's 1 park per day. It's just easier since we stay offsite, plus I can't see spending time in travel when I could be going on more rides.

We rarely do less than two parks in one day in my family.

We are seasoned enough that bouncing around isn't a time drain for our family, especially on the days we aren't going to MK.

However, Krack, if you are going to be fair and eventually use this information in the other thread, you really should include all options as the topic of question is the value of tickets and the information you cited was for a park hopper with water parks and more option and the premium annual pass.

Two parks - almost always. Three...not as much. Normally, we only do three when we want to do something like hit Epcot in the day, catch Osborne Lights then finish our night at MK or something. Beyond that, we normally leave it at two in a day.

We usually do 1 park in the morning. Break from about 2 to 6 back at the resort. Then head to whatever park has EMH that night!

Water Parks have not been included because in 1982 you could visit River Country just as today you can visit one of the two water parks. If you want to make a poll regarding what percentage of park guests visit both water parks in a single day, you're welcome to do so in a different thread.

I've done it to say I've done it, but I wouldn't do it again unless there was a really good reason. 3 in a day is just too much jumping for me and for my family.

2 parks - Easy
3 parks - Hard, but not impossible
4 park - Almost impossible

I have been to 4 parks in 1 day a total of 4 times and it is hectic and rare. Park hours and crowd levels have to be pretty ideal to usually do it. You end up missing out on a bunch of stuff and usually get about 1-2 rides in at most parks. Transportation to each park is the time killer along with eating.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that this is almost entirely impossible, especially with a large group or a family with children. You have to go with a set plan in mind.

When I have done 3 or more parks in one day, I usually start with Animal Kingdom, move to Hollywood Studios, and then either end with Magic Kingdom, Epcot, or both.

We pretty much follow the same formula. Typically, we do 2 parks a day, our
favorite rides and sights. Usually, Ak and Mk then DHS with Epcot. This will vary according the time of year our visits occurs. Of late, the last 3 years, only one visit a year in early December. That's this years game plan again. We love the parks during the Christmas Holidays. :xmas: :sohappy: Happy Holidays!

We've done it once or twice but mostly its two parks per day. Our first day is always Epcot all day long and our last day, at Epcot all day. After we have been there half a week or so, we begin to hop more, doing favorite things, hitting some of the shows we missed earlier in the week and spending time at Downtown Disney. We often go into AK just to ride the safari and Dinosaur and leave and go to another park. :)
