Park Potties

Ok first off, I realize this may be a strange thing to ask.....but there is a reason.

Can anyone tell me if the potties in the parks are manual flush or the auto-flush ones? My 3.5 year old freaks out when she even sees the auto-flush ones. They really scare her. If all the parks have the auto ones in all the facilites, we'll need to start prepping her to decrease the amount of drama. :)

Thanks in advance.

I can see why. Sometimes, to be sitting there doing your business and, out of the blue, the darn thing flushes on ya, can be kinda startling. Especially if it's one of those high pressure flushes where ya think yer gonna get sucked down unless you hold onto the seat pretty tight...

Most of them are automatic.
When my DD was about that age, the only park that had them was Tomorrowland, and they literally scared the pants off of her!

I know some family members had the same issue with their 3 year old on her first trip to Disney, but I can't vouch for whether or not they are all the automatic type. My guess would be that more are automatic than manual.

I can't say for certain if they all are, but there are auto-flush ones there. I can't recall a manual one except for the one in our room. My son is the same way. He did not like them at first, but now he just holds his hands over his ears because its too loud. There are also the sinks with the automatic sensors on it as well.

I recall this topic a year or so ago....But I think almost all of them have changed over now. You can check with City Hall at MK, that should be something the have the info on. "You are not the first to pass this way nor will you be the last" (anyone) it seems lots of kids have a problem with those, which I think is funny since most kids love flushing normal ones.

It seems that most of the toilets in the parks are the auto flush... and if they are manual, I would think they would be replaced in the somewhat near future (mainly because if they are still manual, they've probably been there for quite a while... i.e. when the MK opened!!)

My daughter, 3.5 years old, doesn't like those auto flush toilets, either. One thing that we did on our last trip (right after she turned 3) was to take sticky notes (post-it notes) and place them over the sensor until she was ready to leave the stall. Once she had the door opened, I would take the note off the sensor and she was clear of the bathroom stall by the time the toilet flushed. It made her potty experience much less traumatic. Maybe it can help you, too!

I'm scared of the ones in the room. You press that button and it's like the toilet's gonna suck everything in the room down, along with that loud noise.

The ones at the parks are auto, unfortunately.

Was going to suggest doing the same thing. It works like a charm. My 2yo is very leery when she sees that little red light shining at her.

LOL  When my DS was 3, he loved flushing the toilet. We stayed in a hotel that flushed like this once and it scared him so bad he refused to flush any toilet for months.

We were wondering if these toilets actually suck clear to the other side of the Earth and there is a little guiser every time one is flushed? :veryconfu

Have they converted the ones in the UK pavilion? I found it amusing that my home country was the only one with old style loos!
They probably did after I went in there.... It was after I had a late dinner at teppanyaki, and apparently it went through a little faster than I had thought. It must have been the seaweed.....

Let me guess - to keep with the British theme you put on your best Fast B*stard accent and went "Corn! I dinna' remember eatin' any corn!"

I know - it's not big and it's not clever :o

It always amazes me, that with all that noise and suction and cascading water, these toilets still manage to leave the paper in the bowl after the flush!
