Park Potties

Ok first off, I realize this may be a strange thing to ask.....but there is a reason.

Can anyone tell me if the potties in the parks are manual flush or the auto-flush ones? My 3.5 year old freaks out when she even sees the auto-flush ones. They really scare her. If all the parks have the auto ones in all the facilites, we'll need to start prepping her to decrease the amount of drama. :)

Thanks in advance.

Auto-flush!
Been there done that with my daughter. I used to go in the stall with her and place my entire hand over the sensor on the wall, then she would sit down , do her thing and when she got up I would say ready, and she would say o.k. and I would remove my hand from the sensor and it would flush. Worked like a charm. Warning> if it takes her a while to do her thing then you could be looking at a little arm or back pain trying to hold your hand COMPLETELY still for that long. If your child needs a little help wiping, may I suggest holding your less dominate hand over the sensor, so you can assist with your dominate one. Yes, it takes skill but, it can be done!:animwink:
Good Luck!

You will find auto-flush devices throughout the Magic Kingdom, the Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Epcot and Downtown Disney does has some auto-flush devices, but most restrooms feature manual flushes. The lobby restrooms at the various Disney Resort Hotels are about 50/50.

The best way to override the "scare factor" for your little ones is simply carry with you a pad of post-it notes. Simply cover the sensor with one, and the toilet will not flush. Once your little one is ready remove the post-it to flush.

Thanks to all for the replies & good advice.

We've been doing the 'hand over the sensor' technique for a while. She still freaks out when she 1st sees the auto-flush though. In fact, that's the 1st thing she checks out when we go to the facilities & then she comments on what type. There seems to be a note of relief in her voice when its a manual flush. :)

I do like the idea of using a sticky note to cover the sensor. I bet its more reliable than my hand (which has been known to slip once or twice). Well, more reliable as long as there's enough 'sticky' on the note.

Its nice to know my little one is not the only one to suffer from this phobia. Thanks for sharing your stories, they made me laugh!

Time to go start prepping for the auto-flushes............ Now, where did I put those sticky notes?

It always amazes me, that with all that noise and suction and cascading water, these toilets still manage to leave the paper in the bowl after the flush!

This, my friend, is the bane of my existence, because who do you think has to deal with it? Yeah, that would be me :brick:

Now, not that I want to disagree with JP or anything...but, as a Custodial Hostess at Future World who gets restroom duty 9 times out of 10 (:hurl: ), I can tell you that all of our restrooms feature automatic flushers. I really can't say anything for the World Showcase, though.

Of course. That's why there are so many bidets in Europe.

And that, my friends, is the funniest thing I've read today.

Though bear in mind, it's still pretty early... :lookaroun
