That is most definitely my biggest WDW pet peeve of all time. On my last trip I must have seen 50 people smoking while walking around the park. [Animal Kingdom esp.]...
Other pet peeves of mine are people who use foul language in lines for rides or just generally throughout the parks (when clearly there are young kids around- um hello it's disney).
Also, people who litter (or those people who go to throw something away in a disney garbage can and the trash falls out onto the floor) -and then they look at their garbage on the floor and don't pick it up and continue walking away.... come on just a little courtesy :]

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned: FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY!!! PotC especially! Ruins the ride every damn time. And it's not like they don't tell you not to. I usually keep my temper about it, but I have told a few to stop it if they are directly in front of me and they are unrelenting. Most cameras nowadays (digital ones) have a feature where you don't need to use your flash, but people don't understand this. And in my experience, it's not a cultural thing. The people I have encountered have been American. This totally ruins the experience of a dark ride.

Using your cell phones WHILE ON A RIDE - thus spoiling the experience for everyone around you - is rude. Using your cell phone between rides - or while waiting in line - to keep in touch with other family members is appropriate.
Right on!

Oh please...there's always a pay phone. What do think people did 10 years ago?!
I have yet to see a pay phone in the parks that my wife could phone me on to let me know someone at home has been rushed to hospital... :brick:

10 years ago, I would have been devastated to find out too late.

10 years ago your wife would have made sure that you got the message. i.e. leaving a message at your hotel.

There's always a way to get the message out. That's what we used to have to do.

I'm certainly not condoning phone scramblers, but I also don't understand everyone's new found dependence on the cell phone.

Leave it at the hotel or in the car ! You're on vacation. :brick:

Yeah...my wife and son have asthma, and smoke can be a trigger for both of them. I have actually had people try to tell my son to stop coughing when he got a wiff of smoke (and it does make him cough...not always a full asthma attack, but a cough yes) and they thought he was faking.

I also have had people smoking ALMOST hit my daughter in the face with their ciggarette - I pulled her out of the way just in time. That one almost earned me a quick exit from the parks...I yelled (Hey, watch what you are doing...and you aren't supposed to be smoking here!) at the idiot and almost clobbered her when she shot me the bird!

Pretty much any behavior by another guest who seem to believe they have the right to do whatever they want with no regard for others. Rude guests. Guests who allow their children to behave like beasts. Line holders.

Well, of course rude people get on my nerves but the one that drives me crazy the most is when people stop on the people movers. Like the exit for Space Mountain, as long as it is, people just stand there. It drives me crazy.

It also drives me crazy for someone to stop in the middle of foot traffic to check out a map. Please step to the side people.

I hate it when people have to stop in a busy walkway to dig through their bags, look at a map or whatever. Its like move people, there are folk behind you trying to go. I have so many, but Ill be back. Oh yea, when the people who's fastpass time isnt there yet want to stand there blocking the line for the folk who's time is there, I hate that. Thats why most of the time I try to go to the front of the line.

My biggest Pet Peeve is when im walkin around the parks and I hear people talking who think Jethro Tull is just a guy in a band... :lookaroun

oh and when people jump out of nowhere to steal your table at an eatery even though you were standing 5 feet away from it for five minutes...

I have the normal pet peeves:

Out of control strollers & ECV's, but sometimes things to happen. I was once in Mexico, going into the "market" area and an elderly woman was driving her ECV, when she went down the ramps to get into the market, her ECV wouldn't stop and she bumped a girl in the back of her ankles and the poor woman was just so upset and felt so bad. I was even getting upset watching her. Accidents happen, but when people purposely push and shove with their strollers and what not, and don't care to be polite, its just annoying. But accidents do happen.

Cell phones only bug me if the person is speaking in an obscene and vulgar language and doesn't care to have respect for those around them, especially children. But for purposes as to meeting with families, cell phones are almost a blessing for that.

But I have to say the biggest pet peeve of mine, and it has only happened several times, but still thinking about it drives me crazy, is watching a show, such as Mickey's Philharmagic, and trying to enjoy the music, but someone behind me thinks they are the next American Idol and belts out the song so it is nearly draining out the original music, and they can't sing!!! lol. I know we all sing along with the Disney Music, how could you not, but don't compete with the original!!! :brick: :brick: :brick:

Disney pet peeves, here a a few of mine:

1) people who don't wear deodorant when it is hot out!:hurl:
2) getting bumped in the ankles by strollers!:fork:
3) people who walk up right before the parade starts and stand in front of you!
4) people who scream CONSTANTLY during Haunted Mansion!:fork:
5) RUDE tour groups (we all know who I'm talking about).:mad::mad:
6) people who continue to stand at the check in podium at Table Service restaurants after they have already given their info to the hostess and been given a beeper. They stand there staring at the hostess and block others from checking in! (C'mon people back up, you'll get fed just move away from the podium you freakin' animals).

I really dislike when people do not understand personal boundries. It is annoying when you are standing in line and people are right up on you....so close you can feel them breathing on you! I sometimes think that people have this sense that they have to pack in like sardines in the lines as they think it might get them on quicker. :brick: It's a park full of so many people who all have the same goal......have fun, ride the rides, and enjoy the magic. For me, it's not so magical if I feel like my personal space is invaded.

Oh......and I can't stand when people cut in line.....last trip it happened so many times. I just had to shrug it off and not let it bother me! It started from the time we tried checking in at the hotel to the last day but, I did my best to not let it ruin or vacation.

Warning - I have a type A personality, but here we go!

*Flash photos on rides.

*Rude guests. Like last time we were at PotC at the Pirate Tutorial, and Jack asked the kids to come in to the middle, but don't push them if they didn't want to go. I gently put my hand on my son's back, and he actually stumbled over the rope on the ground. He didn't fall or anything, and he wanted to go, he's just not very coordinated. The woman next to me turned to her husband and said, "I guess some people can't hear that you're not supposed to push your child." I looked at her and said, "My child, my business!" To which she nastily replied that she wasn't talking to me. I held back. It was hard, but I did.

*People who get in a queue just because it's there. Never mind that there are other queues for the same thing that have a third of the people.

*People who cut in front of strollers. I think some people have a mentality of I-have-to-get-in-front-of-the-stroller (or wheelchair or ECV), thus totally cutting off the stroller. There's nothing like pushing a sleeping child only to have a bunch of people suddenly cut in front of you, then you have to stop suddenly and hard to not clip ankles and be accused of bad things.
