Holy overreactions. So many accusations of Six Flags-theming and the worst thing they've ever seen in Disney parks, when it's literally just a change of colors and a few implementations. Six Flags would be amazed to have something of this caliber. Looks like we're going to keep following the Disney cycle of non-stop complaining until the project actually opens and it turns out it's pretty good.

It’s not just a “change of colors and a few implementations.”

Pixar Pier follows the same philosophy as Six Flags. Just because it is more expensive does not make its underlying concept different.

This appears to be one of those situations where leadership is looking to change something just to show that they're doing something.

Nothing here is really an impressive idea and I have a hard time believing the general populace will feel any different after the initial boost from opening. I understand the argument that none of the changes are really that offensive but it also just feels like a waste of resources that could be better spent elsewhere.

The new Screamin station looks pretty good but not worth the tradeoff of theme. Plus we've already got the wink-wink faux 50s nostalgia happening over at Monsters Inc.

Besides all the other miserable crap happening here, enclosing the coaster tubes trashes a lot of the kinetic energy that makes that vista so nice from most of the park.

So I'm just going to say my piece here so that you guys can probably ignore it and continue shouting in this echo chamber you've built for yourselves.

You guys are seriously some of the most miserable, negative people I've ever seen (if your posts are to be believed). Like literally it seems all you guys do is constantly bemoan and rant about every little thing that Disney does to the parks. It's one thing if you don't care about certain rides or things Disney does, but when you then go on and on and on about these changes on an almost-daily basis (hi @TROR), it's kinda really obsessive.

Now about Pixar Pier, I'm old enough to remember when people thought Disney building a California-themed park in California was stupid. Fast forward to almost two decades later, suddenly everyone is mad because Disney is slowly chipping away at the California theme. The fact that some of you actually want Disney to go BACK to DCA 1.0 just tells me you're not satisfied with anything. I also remember when people complained that Disney California Adventure wasn't "Disney." So here they are incorporating some more Disney properties into the park and...big shock...you still have a problem with it. Again...never satisfied with anything.

But don't let me ruin your fun! Continue acting like you know what's good Imagineering and what isn't just because you go to the parks a lot, talk about them on a daily basis, read the books, and marathoned Roller Coaster Tycoon when you were a kid. I'll keep going to the parks with people who actually want to have fun and not be joyless shells not satisfied with anything.

NO, what bull s*** talk.
I am ed Disney is giving us this piece of s*** product. Guest spending $100 for a day entry, $300 for park hopper, let alone $1,000 bucks for a high end passport plus people spending outrageous money for a Disney hotel experience to come see this!? Are you kidding me!? Guest deserve so much better. Might as well spend that money elsewhere for premium vacation. Seriously.

For the record, I thought DCA would have been a fantastic park about California, but nope. Disney went cheap back then and intentionally hoping it was good for the people. Cheap product results unsatisfying customer. This look like DCA 1.0 quality. Not top Disney quality like Disneyland.
And that what make me upset to see Disney ditching a idea that sound good, but didn't execute it well. Here they are ripping away reference of California for lazy Disney branding as easy peasy band-aid fix. Walt would have fix the idea of DCA like he did with Jungle Cruise. If you want to spend $$$$ for this, good for you.

This is not good.

Why even call it a pier anymore? Why even call it a land anymore? Its a loose concoction of individually themed attractions. And that's not even true, not with the "Pixar" Wheel featuring Mickey Mouse and every other Pixar property there is. Maybe next year they can split the buckets in half and have one princess side and one Star Wars side. Got to make sure to cover all the bases!

I'm pretty surprised to see them do away with the Princess dining. I'd imagine that is moving somewhere else. Probably somewhere at DL.

looks cool adding some Michael Giacchino to Screamin can't hurt. hopefully this was a cheap way to pull a few more guests away from disneyland. even if the inside out attraction is just a retheme it should be more popular then the bugs life version. as Bugs isn't as beloved of a film.

Pal, you're sitting there attacking us for not shilling for a company because we dislike something being done cheap and we're the ones with sad lives?

And let's be clear, bud, we are all individuals with different ideas and opinions. I, for one, have never complained about a California themed park in California. In fact, I think it makes a lot of sense. Where else would you put a theme park celebrating California's history? New York? Why? That makes no sense. I love what Disney did in 2010, 2012, and 2015 to help strengthen that theme of California's history and culture. What I don't love, and hate actually, is destroying these changes, as seen here with Pixar Pier or Mission Breakout, and going backwards with the improvements they made all for a lousy and cheap dollar.

But of course, why should we be critical of Disney theme parks? They're just supposed to be fun after all, right? Who needs imagination, innovation, and immersion when I can meet Baby Groot from the new hit movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on Blu Ray and DVD now or ride on the Incredicoaster, a roller coaster themed to the Incredibles (see the Incredibles 2 in theaters summer 2018) just as much as Riddler's Revenge is themed to the Riddler?

So what's the prediction on when they close Bugs Land? After they reopen Paradise Pier in Summer 2018 ? Or January 2019?

I wouldn't bet on a closure until they finalize the Marvel plans, and who knows when that will happen.

Oh wait a second I know this guy. This dope tried to make fun of me on Twitter and I kept making him rage so hard he ended up blocking me. Dude's exactly what you'd expect from a generic shill: Left wing politics, can't handle other opinions, loves change unless suggested by someone who's not Disney, hates big companies but Disney is exempt from this. His life of "trolling" is almost as laughable as Pixar Pier.

Oh god, if you think people on here are bad go to Micechat... I can't stand it there.

I think it's great Disney changes things up, I've said this before (and was criticized for saying it about GOTG:MB and now look at it) that the Imagineers are smart and know what they're doing. Do not know why people don't like change and want to stick with the old things. I think Pixar Pier will be great, and everyone complaining will be surprised just like they were with GOTG:MB.
