I'm kinda feeling the same way about DLR TBH. I'm visiting LA right now and toyed with the idea of hitting DLR while I'm here, but decided to pass (again).

I'm having a great time sightseeing - The Grove/Farmer's Market, partying in West Hollywood, LACMA, and the Griffith Observatory.

At the moment I'm enjoying a Manhattan at the W Hotel in Hollywood and tomorrow we head to Catalina island. Disneyland? No thanks.

FWIW, Disneyland park is empty right now. Just checked the wait times and it's insane. Might be indicative of it being a good week to go.

Gotta get your last minute trips in before Galaxy's Edge opens and forever alters the park.

I’m flying back to SF tomorrow at 8pm and I’m seriously thinking about getting up early and going to USH to see Potterland.

Not worth it lol. Unless you want to share in talking trash about forbidden journey with me. If home base is hollywood, then why not, but if you have to drive an hour from some other LA location, might as well bite the bullet and get a one day ticket to disneyland. Go from 8-4:30.

I would never talk someone out of going somewhere like USH for a day, but me and my kids have been Harry Potter fans for years and we weren't wowed either. It's cool to see, if you're a fan of the books, but since you're not I can't imagine you getting much out of it other than to see what all the hype is about. (Not much).

Perhaps the most offensive thing about Harry Potter Land to me is since its success, everyone seems to believe that the only thing people want to see or experience is something directly from a movie. Booooo.
I get you and it wasn't my cup of tea either. But, TBF, technically the ride was impressive and the details of the castle and the town are quite good. It was exactly like being in the movie--with all the good and bad that means for a theme park fan.

I'm staying in the Beverly Grove neighborhood in LA, so getting to USH is easy from here. I'm also flying out of LAX, so I don't want to deal with the hassle of getting from Anaheim to the airport.

You should. Buy tickets on-line so you get in an hour before opening. You can see/do everything in Potterland in about an hour. Twice. Then, wander, take the tram tour, do some rides, you'll be out by noon.

The thing that kills me is that a one day ticket to USH is $114, and that's with the $10 discount for California residents. Theme park operators have really lost their damn minds with their outrageous admission prices.

Edit: I might just go to The Broad Museum in DTLA instead.

So true, but that's the market. I've made peace with the fact that Disney or Uni will be expensive and crowded. May as well complain about the sky being blue.
