If it's one thing Disney learned from the Matterhorn and Mission: Breakout! is themed entertainment is best when it's self referential.

"Incredibles, what does it mean to your family to have this coaster dedicated to all of you?"
"Well, we are so..."
"Embarrassed!"

At least Violet is saying what some are thinking.

Maybe if I was short it'd be a good dig, but I'm 6'0". If it's a comment on maturity or age, it's still really a weird reply to me saying I'm going to listen to the California Screamin' soundtrack while riding Incredibles' California Screamin.

On the bright side though, at least the figures are already static so they don't run the risk of breaking and becoming the butt of many a disco joke. (see Expedition Everest)
They're already the butt of jokes but for other reasons

Really the greatest part of today is the 2018 theme park horror show is passing us.

So what is the theme park attraction of the year... Incredicoaster, Slinky Dog or Drupercharger?

CHOOOOOOSE

I guess that safe/pedestrian/non-offensive Kung Fu Panda thing opened. Is Steel Vengeance themed?

I just saw a morning lighting POV badly filmed, but boy the effects are awful in bright lighting definitly better during dusk/nighttime lighting. It also seems like the audio cut off after the launch and stopped working

My take: the coaster is still the coaster with some characters tacked on. The queue is better. The music isn't great. Result: Lateral move.

Fun Wheel: same as above; same ride, new paint and some characters. Result: Lateral move.

Lamplighter: spruced up interior, more seating, food looks good, expensive. Result: Net gain.

Shops and games are just re-themed. Result: Lateral move.

The rest is TBD, but the Pier is spruced up with new paint and looks fresher. Fine.

Over all, Disney spent a good chunk of money and didn't make the Pier better in total. If not for the whole 'synergy' thing it was a waste of time.

This is really the only part I ever cared about. I never set foot in Ariel's and it always looked tacky had poor reviews. Am glad to have a cool spot on the (dirty) water to chill and enjoy some new food, even if it is way too pricey. Carthay Lounge has been my go to for a long time in DCA, and I suspect it still will be thanks to the low crowds -- but am looking forward to getting a table at Lamplighters and changing up the scenery when I can.
