News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

If Disney themes Pixar Pier as well as the Toyville Trolley Park at DisneySea then we're in for a treat.
Since the Marvel universe is diegetic to the parks, I prefer the Marvel attractions be set in the parks themselves, not be some kind of faux New York City. Stark Expo is in HKDL with the attraction's action beginning and ending at the park. GotG_M:B is in CDA because the Collector wanted to show off his wares in one of the biggest tourist spots on Earth (though he missed by about a thousand feet). And those Marvel attractions link up with Iron Man calling in from HK to CDA for the training show (albeit the show is lame). Look forward to what Disney is going to do next.

I agree. I have no interest in a Faux NYC. I would also much rather they take place in the park. I think it's fun that the Collector's fortress is actually in the parks. That's basically a new concept. Super fun!

The problem with Paradise Pier is that even after the DCA big makeover, it's still not Disney quality. A big wooden coaster, off-the-shelf rides, ugly storefronts, boardwalk games, etc. The issue is not a lack of Disney IP. The issue is a lack of quality.

Often they get it right. However, they seem to not have a solution on how to improve the quality of Paradise Pier, so instead, they're shoehorning characters and a meaningless brand name to make it feel "more Disney." - Chapek, 2017. And that's not a good way to solve the problem. In fact, I think that'll wind up feeling extra cheap.

I have no qualms with Disney using movie characters when they're used in ways that increase popularity WHILE benefitting the park.

Agreed. I have zero problems with IP. I never thought twice about Indiana Jones or Star Tours because they were quality attractions that fit into their respective lands.

I'm not sure if anyone has read any of the news articles in regards to Disney announcements from D23.

It seems that even though WDW seemed to have dominated D23 with so many interesting additions the news media has focused more on the changes for Epcot and see it as a much needed investment for what some are saying are calling dates theme park.

What I find interesting is that aside from Epcot their has been several stories commenting on the announcements for Disneyland Resort. With the announcement of early 2019 opening for Galaxy's edge, the future Marvel land, Halloween event and the Pixar additions not only is the media excited but also Wallstreet. Some in wallstreet are predicting again a rise in Disney stock because they are praising Disney for adding huge investments in the Disneyland resort. They believe that this could be a start for another expansion of the resort that will help raise profit margins and therefore raise the theme park divisions and balance if the companies portfolio as the cable division sees a slight decrease.
Of course they are more exited at the cross promotion from theme park to movie and intellectual properties.

I'm hoping that this pushes Burbank to finally start thinking seriously about the overall growth of the resort with a much needed expansion of DTD, hotel resorts and eventually theme park acreage.

Luckily the mayor will be gone next year. Hopefully someone who will be willing to work better with Disney and encourage growth for the resort will replace him. @TP2000 time to start thinking about a campaign slogan.

Sometimes its fun to say "you know what really grinds my gears?" It's why married people need to separate from their daily routine to talk S*** with their friends (or therapists)! All in good fun? We did have a troll threaten to kill themselves once though. That was a first.

I feel like for knee jerk initial reactions, these aren't too bad.

"No one in this thread is overreacting."

[quoted posts of overreactions]

"Those don't count because they're knee jerk and 'grind my gears' posts." (Whatever that means.)

Sure, no one's overreacting if you handwave away posts of actual overreactions.

Disney-MGM Studios

Disney-MGM Studios was never cool.

IMO none of those comments sound like anyone is having a nervous breakdown that would warrant "the sky is falling" to be thrown around. There may be posts like that in other threads or on micechat but not here. You're reaching.

Also if you're going to quote. Quote correctly. I particularly like how you lowered the bar from "ultra emotional", "illogical", and no comment that screams the sky is falling to "over reacting."

Mainly because I didn't want to keep repeating the Chicken Little metaphor. If you want, you can swap overreacting and "the sky is falling" on any post of mine anywhere.
