Back in April I opted to skip the Disney Churro Challenge, and went this route instead:

I have a great idea for my theme park (which you can also visit in 35 years) but I can't say it because then Disney will steal my idea (but it relates to churros and I wouldn't mind Disney stealing it because I really want this now)

Seems like DCA has their Dole Whip equivalent now, based on that line. With very minimal effort. That location offered nondescript ice cream for how long and now it no longer does, but it offers something location-specific that people feel compelled to try. And now that blank wall with billboards that sat there offering nothing for 18 years is perfect because if that line was cutting across other facades and attractions, we might have a crowd flow problem.

Not entirely true (about it always being nondescript)... Back in the day, that was actually a pretty cool spot. They originally had a bunch of different flavors (lemon included, ha!) that they would swirl in with the soft serve, but when it reopened during the first round of renovations around 2010 or whenever, it was just vanilla and chocolate.

Check it out...

I'm aware of this. They also sell a hot dog and a drink for $1.50. Great deals. I don't know how they do it but I love them for it.

Same reason you can get such a cheap breakfast or lunch at Ikea. It's a loss leader. Gets people into the stores to spend money on everything else. Plus at that point, you're already a member (or tagging along with one) so you've already plunked down $60 just for the ability to buy that food (and everything else in the store).

Nah the food court is outside. I've never had a Costco membership but I enjoy their food offerings a lot.
