News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

Where did you search and how far in advance did you have to search out to get that price? I'm just curious cause I want to know where to get the best prices. It can't be secret since everyone does it.

One way I can see getting your example prices is if you are searching for a trip 3-6 months in advance. That is not a comparable search since Pixar Pier event is a month from now, not 3-6 months from now. So what are the prices if you do a search for one month from now which is when the Pixar event is taking place? Can you provide screen shots of your examples?

Here is just one search example:

Check out Justfly.com. You one can usually find pretty cheap rates there. I just came back from London a few days ago...paid under $600 for my roundtrip ticket, plus a few extra things.

Here’s a screenshot of my search for a two-week stay in Tokyo for this September, flying in from Los Angeles. This is for roundtrip. Also, not trying to compare it to Pixar Pier, necesaarily. I searched for it to find cheaper prices than $1200.

Thanks, cheapest prices are still about $900 for a month from now which is what I was searching. So there is not really a price difference in what I showed. Sure if you search out 3 or months in advance you can find cheaper prices, that not the point.

The point I was making was if you did a apples to apples pricing between going to Tokyo a month from now or going to the Pixar Pier Preview it'd be cheaper to do the preview. This is just a price vs price comparison for the same time period, not which trip you think you personally would like better.

Bruh, I think we all hope it'll be better than the negative opinions expressed here.

It will be virtually the same, that's the funny thing. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but the farthest I typically went into Paradise Pier was the queue for California Screamin' before I backtracked it towards Cars/Tower area. Rarely did I ever keep walking towards the Fun Wheel or Swings unless I was trying to kill time with my kid, and if that's the case, I'm not there for myself anyways and he's gonna dig all this stuff way more than me.

That wheel is a perfect target for mockery. Lousy ride to begin with, second (and worse) attempt to theme it, and now crowned with possibly the stupidest name ever devised for a Disney park attraction this side of "Ellen's Energy Adventure." Would anyone miss it if it went the way of Maliboomer (but this time got replaced by a *better* ride)? Heck, even another drop/launch tower in that spot (minus Boomer's tacky attempt at theming) would be more fun and keep the general Pier Skyline on board. And no scream shields this time (I've no sympathy for locals who moved next to a theme park and don't expect to hear theme park sounds).

Eh... it's fine for what it is -- a backdrop for photos and a way to get up high and look out the parks. It really doesn't have a big footprint and there's not much else you can do with the space. If they're gonna sell guests the idea of a pier, may as well keep a ferris wheel around.
But yeah, they need to really stop with the dumb names. No one's going to call it that. I don't think anyone ever really called it Mickey's Fun Wheel either. The average guest would turn to their other average guest friend and say, "Hey... Our California Screamin' FP isn't for another half hour. Wanna ride the ferris wheel?"

I'd still like to see it replaced with a better experience that doesn't literally need vomit bags in the cabins.

Same on-ride experience, sure because the ride itself hasn't change beside the Pixar characters being added. But same area experience from inside the pier area, no because it'll add atmosphere to sell the Pixar experience they are going for.
