Do these look similar to you? Your argument seems to be that there are no changes that could be made to the Incredicoaster trains, since all coaster trains look the same anyways? I'm not saying that they needed to, since "story-wise" they're just supposed to be generic coaster cars, but something unique would've given it a little added flair.

Those are two different type of roller coasters, as I said the cars change based on the type of roller coaster.

For example, does this train style look familiar:

Or how about this one:

Because of the physics of coasters there is only so much stylistically you can change about the train cars. Now I will admit I would have liked them to change out the front nosecone of the train to be a bit different. What I don't know is if completely redesigning the train cars would require them to redesign the track layout. Also I believe its also based on who built the coaster. Each roller coaster company has a certain style. So that could have limited them in design choices and thus why they decided to just go for a paint job.

At the very least, (and I know this would have been expensive), this was their one chance to fix Scream's only real issue and replace the unnecessary over-the-shoulder restraints with newer-style lap bars. Screamin' has never needed OTS harnesses.
I agree. Even Magic Mountain fixed their Revolution with newer-style lap bars. There is no need for OTS harnesses on this type of looping coaster. Your not shaken enough to need them. Besides they just bash your head instead.

If I wasn't on mobile I'd pull up the old Space Mountain Mission 2 trains and the current ones for Hyperspace Mountain in Paris. They're the same kind of train but the style is completely changed.

No, other coaster companies have introduced new trains to existing rides at other parks without altering the track, so that can definitely be done. It's a matter of cost and time. Disney chose paint over new trains because they're not willing to more money into this half-baked overlay.

The Incredicoaster Ride Testing:

Did they only send off half the fleet to be repainted / replaced for now? Why would they be testing an original ride vehicle like that? Watching that video with the original coaster car running, everything looks EXACTLY the same minus the red tubing which is a little longer than the original tubing. Talk about a cheap re-skin.

However.. how is the soundtrack to Incredibles? That part could be potentially good / redeeming..

There are waaaay more than two different types of roller coasters. Sorry to nit-pick, but this is a forum full of coaster geeks who've played way too much RC Tycoon (1,2,3 and all expansions).

But what about "World" and "Mobile" :hilarious:

To be fair, RCT Classic for Android is exactly what we all needed

And iOS (where it completely drains the battery in about 45 minutes!) There's a new one coming out for Switch. It looks like a Frankensteinian mix of mobile, RCT 1 and RCT3. I'm hoping for the best, prepared for the worst, and pessimistic about the fact that queues have been axed entirely.

Thank goodness it works well on Android haha.

Isn't that the game that Atari begged people to donate for it? What a joke. Atari is desperate.

I think, for the average Disney guest who maybe doesn't venture into more extreme coaster parks, the over-the-shoulder restraints are more of a comfort and could be a factor in whether or not they decide to ride it. Even though scientifically g-forces and gravity will do their thing and prevent people from falling out, mentally it's always nice to know there's a backup. :)

A few years ago Discovery Kingdom opened the coaster that does the slow-motion barrel roll 150 feet in the air with just a lap bar and practically nothing to hang onto. I only rode it once because, psychologically, hanging upside down (no g-forces holding riders in) with just a lap bar was too scary for me to do again. In more recent installments of that same ride (Sea World CA gets one this summer), they've added fabric shoulder "comfort belts" which really serve no purpose except to make riders feel safer. :D

If Disney feels Scream--oh, sorry, "Incredicoaster"--really needs shoulder restraints for that reason, I do wish they'd consider something more comfortable.

Any other moms or dads out there who still put a hand on their kids during Screamin, just in case the shoulder harness gives way, and they start to fall out, you can use your super strength and hold them in with just one hand?

They are testing because they replaced the whole launch section and added new water effects. they also removed and replaced the loop on the coaster.
